That article was a piece of shit. Go to the source and look at the original reviews. They're actually quite positive. There's a wide gap between genuine "rubbish" and "not as fast as Windows".
Even on Linux, those games make you understand why people would bother with PC gaming.
Not high enough of a body count. Social media jumped on a situation in progress in Texas and then promptly dropped it as soon as it was resolved with no carnage.
Linux has gotten MUCH better about gaming. It used to be a no man's land. Now it's only a partial no man's land. Steam is where most stuff is at (and limited to). So it's much like the Mac situation.
MythTV has also had this kind of fast forward feature for years and years. It never occured to me to even try it. I found the lack of commercials to be rewarding enough. Take those out and you can already watch "more stuff".
This is actually really old tech that hasn't really seemed to catch on.
If you're itching to turn on some sort of fast-forward mode then you're clearly watching the wrong thing. There's really no need for anyone to subject themselves to something they don't really want to watch. Not in this day and age.
In terms of streaming it is very new. It's also in the reverse direction of current trends. It makes sense from an engineering perspective but right sholders are unlikely to go for it... which is probably why it hasn't happened yet.
Not doing them won't "hold Netflix back".
If anyone can do this than everyone will. Hardware will likely need updated.
The US is a union of States. It's kind of right there in the title.
Those states are supposed to be fairly autonomous and make their own decisions including how to handle national elections. Some of these things make more sense when you actually acknowedge states and provinces (in the case of Canada).
What hysterical nonsense. Some people don't want to be in some super-state where the Arabs can try to claim sole ownership of the temple mount, therefore it will all devolve into total anarchy.
Never mind the fact that we have nation states with a history that spans thousands of years.
The US took 150 years to develop. It did not just pop out of the ether fully formed in 1776. There was a first iteration that completely failed. It took the 2nd iteration another 90 years to work itself out.
It might simply be time for EU version 2.0. If you force 1.0 to linger on then you destroy what might be very useful progress.
> Going by that same logic, I assume you are in favor of the states breaking off from the union as well?
As long as liberals acknowledge that the 50 state houses exist and that the Constitution limits the power of the federal government, this shouldn't be necessary.
I could certainly do without Obamacare or Chicago style "gun control".
Some people think that solutions should be as big in scope and scale as possible neglecting that ALL systems tend to not scale well.
Brexit hysteria is media driven by people that need to slander anyone with a contrary opinion. Much of it is artificial nonsense. The results aren't going to be nearly that dire. People seem intent on pushing a false dichotomy with subservience to Brussels on one side and total chaos on the other.
People who business will want business to continue as usual to whatever degree that is possible. There is economic inertia that will come into play here.
It's like thinking that a businessman that's a political amateur will tear everything down. He's not Ted Cruz. He has skin in the game.
This is why you can't trust anyone over 30, they are prone to be invested in the status quo.
> You need to look up the word socialism. Just throwing that word randomly at things you do not like just makes you look stupid.
It's government control of business. The NHS is a shining example. So was the coal industry before Thatcher. Along with direct control comes a tendency to impose stifling regulation that cause absurd things like housing shortages in Germany.
Of course if someone makes a choice contrary to you liberal whiners, you INSULT them. No f*cking wonder they're in open rebellion. You continue coping the same attitude that fuels this stuff.
I would describe it as states rights, the idea that problems are best solved closest to home and national politicians have active contempt for much of the electorate and certain regions of the country.
There are places where the blue state mentality is not needed or is counterproductive. Let them fuck up their own state and leave the rest of us alone.
Despite our own differences we represent roughly the same mixture of people and nationalities. The EU is made up of entirely different nations that are actually different.
Part of "multiculturalism" should be acknowledging this fact rather than trying to deny it.
Governance of the EU seems dependent on ignoring it's inherent challenges rather than dealing with them head on.
> sadly, as an American, I agree with your sentiments.
I doubt if you have the slightest real clue about it. You're probably just another "white knight" liberal who wants to feel smug "saving" people that are really just insulted by the implication.
Britain has a lot of that too apparently. It seems there are plenty of "ignored people" that are tired of being dismissed as intolerant or racist.
I've walked off the job over nonsense like this, real "take this job and shove it" kind of stuff. You are a professional, not a meat robot on the factory floor.
This tends to be the zone of rare cancers where drugs need the Orphan Drugs Act just to get into the approval pipeline. The non gene-splicing version of this is only used on patients that already have failed to respond to any other therapies.

You're an idiot. We won't get the NHS. We will get more of what we already have in terms of Medicaid and Medicare. You lot are simply too cheap.
The NHS would collapse based on what Americans of both parties are willing to spend on public healthcare.
A lot of doctors use HIPPA as an excuse to cash in.
Under the GOP system there was already a risk pool of last resort.
Much less intrusive than trying to re-engineer the entire industry and less of a constitutional issue than forcing a consumer product on people.
You can always do it the old fashioned way.
Unless you've got developer credits, you're just a poser talking out his ass.
Linux looks a lot bigger to a Mac porting shop than it does to Electronic Arts. They're both closer to each other than either of them is to Windows.
The performance has to be acceptable to someone that just wants to have fun. That may even include actual Windows users.
"inferior" can cover a lot of ground both in terms of "fitness" and the available software library.
I would consider his post borderline trolling.

The Steam store is open for anyone to browse.
I wouldn't call the Grid Autosport port "rubbish". If anything, it's good enough that I want to spend extra money on a better controller.
Of course I would laugh at the idea of using Intel for gaming. Athough AMD has potential. At least they don't have crap hardware.

I would expect so.

On the other hand, personal prosperity for the working class isn't capped at a level that most Americans would consider intolerable.
That part just KILLS you.
