    And how are you supposed to mark up graphics to fit in with text that varies depending on the screen? CSS is great, but it's not exactly resolution-independent for all practical purposes - unless you want scaling on pixel-perfect graphics designed for being displayed 1:1.

    Call me crazy, but wouldn't C/C++ code be far more useful. You could treat it like pseudo code if you have to, but it's far more readable.

    What really gets me is when English teachers say things like "there's no right answer", and then proceed to mark your paper off for not having the right answer. It's like the whole thing is some sort of trap or cruel joke.

    That very thing happened to me, even in college. I suppose while there's no right answer, there's plenty of wrong ones. I just don't know how to tell the difference.

    That's not exactly exclusive contact - you would hope the system is set up with administrators outside that classroom. Most teachers aren't savvy enough to set up Moodle themselves anyway, or if they are - they just have to create an account for a school administrator to access at the very least.

    Just so you know, "too far from the office" means "we're too cheap to have ANY remote DSLAMs outside of our office." They can run fiber to an area of houses and install DSLAM units anywhere they want. They won't tell you that, because they don't want to - it's too expensive. Forget the Universal Service Fund.

    The drive has hundreds of spares. I start worrying when it's greater than 0, but it's really more about how quickly it's happening (if a large area of the drive has failed and it's constantly finding more bad spots. At your stage, I would run the manufacturers scan that would force it to check every last sector and see where you're at. Then, back up regularly and keep using it.

    To some degree. It's not all that accurate. Where I live - in a rural town of about 6,000, my IP shows me as being about 50 miles away. If you live in a major city, you can get more than a city name with other forms of geolocation - you can get a neighborhood.

    If I go to Google (logged in) and type plumber - I get the ones that are near where my profile says I am, and not where my IP says I am. It's a lot more useful. Plus, Google Maps on my iPod touch always shows me where I am almost to the street intersection. I really like that.

    The raw SMART stats are part of SMART. That's all I look at. With some brands of drive, certain counters increase wildly because those stats aren't supported, and you're seeing random data. I always go by Reallocated Sector Count, Pending Reallocations, and uncorrectable sectors - among others if they are available.

    Ok, the exception applies to all posessive pronouns, but it doesn't apply to all nouns. It's still an exception to the general rule. A arm's length vs. My arm's on fire shows that all other nouns are ambiguous with their apostrophes.

    Technically an exception with the apostrophe. Apostrophes are used to denote possession AND contraction. Any other possessive noun does include an apostrophe. I agree, everyone should know, but it's not like they're missing a basic rule - it's an exception.
