Well, since it doesn't exist anymore...I would say that they kinda hit a rough patch.
China? Well, they're certainly the most successful nation on earth right now, if success is measured in actually producing rather than trading in invisibles.
China and the US both need each other. China would be in deep trouble if there weren't American's to buy what they make.
I don't really play console games...I was downright astounded when I was watching some friends play the original Halo and I saw the "finding new host" message. I asked them what were they paying MS for.
One thing you are missing is how consoles have really, really, really, lowered the bar on what a gaming PC needs to be. Anything that came out in the last 2-3 years with any middling to decent video card will run anything. You can build an AMD rig with an upper level video card for $600 or so that would play anything on high/max settings.
Ofc, the sitting in front of the TV factor is huge...you're right about that.
The cable provider where I live (Insight...and to give credit, even when it is to a pretty crappy company, it is fantastic Internet service) installs a wireless router that comes pre-configured with secure wireless set up. The password is on a sticker on the router. You used to see unsecured residential wi-fi all over the place in my area...you rarely see it anymore.
You're right...I wasn't thinking that we were talking about the new ones. My mistake. I have become disenchanted enough with my 3GS that I had already decided that I was going to try another phone whenever this one breaks. I used to like it...but with every iOS update it seems to run slower and slower....add in that in the last few months I can't send/receive calls/text messages at my house (which worked fine for the first several years I had a 3G then a 3GS).
Your initial comment is not flamebait btw....hope someone with mod points sees that.
that is pretty odd....is the cost of the phone not subsidized across the length of the contract in Australia? The math still doesn't add up even if that is the case.
I understand your point, but the GP has a point too....which is that this is as much an opportunity for people to drool over some new apple product as it is for people to slam it for being inane. They are tossing them a softball. Not that I think they would need it.
Maybe you can't legally do it...but you can easily do it. You can also easily unlock you own. It was/is illegal to copy music to a blank cassette tape...but everyone agreed that was stupid and did it anyway.
I used a mouse left handed for the first 3-4 years I had a PC...I finally just bit the bullet and went right handed only. Since the right handed devils have always forced us to use our off hand...it wasn't that hard of a transition. I did have a mouse on either side of my keyboard for a while though, which was an interesting setup. To this day I can use a mouse with either hand and never mix the buttons up.
The same way as with any other console game that doesn't port well....the developer slows/dumbs it down until it works. I don't really play console games, not sure if there as ever been an RTS console game. There probably will be eventually though, too much money to be made.
See below, I didn't realize that Netflix doesn't stream anything HD to a PC. So let me correct that for you
Netflix of course does have HD for certain devices...
3Mbps wouldn't bother me at all either, but I can't even get that without buying a separate player. Even though my PC can easily handle it on it's own.
I've never seen any HD at all...but, I don't use it all that much. I'm sure I'm mistaken. I don't watch a lot of non-sports TV, and when I do watch something I usually just grab it off usenet and always get the HD version. I have the netflix streaming sub because it's such a good deal.
What device are you streaming it with? I ask because I am going to be pissed if this is device locked.
Yeah, isn't it awesome how they are (or were) pretty much strong arming my Grandmother into paying for ESPN (one of the most expensive basic cable channels there is) when she would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, watch it?
The HD from Netflix should be perfect...because, as far as I know, you can't stream HD from Netflix...so the HD you get would be from the disc you put in your player.
The problem is that the vast majority of Xbox Live users, or should I say console scum, don't know any better and happily fork it over.
Please note that I don't mean that all console gamers are console scum. Just the stupid ones that pay for things that should be free....and that are causing the dumbing down of games.
Ah well...lowest common denominator. I am so glad that Portal 2 didn't suck. I would have taken a hostage.
Entirely possible. The older I get the more certain I become that this is the case and that I just couldn't tell the difference before.
I rarely play it single player. I have 2 friends that are willing to play multiplayer games which is who I usually play with. Ofc, the games take forever. I had noticed before that the computer was easy to beat...I just thought I was good:)
I like the new battle system. In the old ones is was just a race to the biggest steamroller. Now, you have to think about how you move things around.
To every IT department: you are everyone bitches, we do not care about your concerns shut up and make it work.
YES. THIS. Give me the tools I need to pay your fucking salary and get out of my way.
wow...this is not trolling.
Most asian cultures would have a lot to teach white people about being racist. If you don't know this, then you don't know any asians.
The USSR had a downturn?
Well, since it doesn't exist anymore...I would say that they kinda hit a rough patch.

this is absolute nonsense.
I don't really play console games...I was downright astounded when I was watching some friends play the original Halo and I saw the "finding new host" message. I asked them what were they paying MS for.
Ofc, XBL is much better nowadays.
We all have our own, but Q3 perfected deathmatch IMO. But I never played any single player in Q1 or Q2.
yet another instance of consoles making PC games suck. Fortunately, portal 2 didn't....because I would have taken a hostage.

when he said "Fallout 3 was the first..." I thought to myself, 'oh this guy is gonna get ripped' before I even scrolled down.

Fight the good fight my left handed brethren.

I just realized why I thought this. I only ever use Netflix streaming on my PC to my 42" gaming/secondary monitor. They don't stream HD to PC's.
I may cancel it.

Apple, we do what we must because we can.
Are you insane?.
Entirely possible. The older I get the more certain I become that this is the case and that I just couldn't tell the difference before.
