However, its not really well known for that, and if it was the alcohol in wine that people were pushing as being healthy then we would also see people pushing whiskey as having the same effect. I happen to live in one of the "poorer" neighborhoods to which I was talking about. And I can assure you that it is bulldroppings to say that they (my neighbors mind you) are working "as hard" or doing "more for the world" than almost anyone. They are rather sitting on the government dole that pays for their housing (which according to you is a good way to "gather wealth") AND their satellite dish (which BTW is also very visible from the street) AND their flat screen TV.
As for myself, I'm a poor medical student going to school and working and with virtually no luxury funds of any kind. That is the way to "gather wealth". Work hard and spend as little as you have to regardless of your income level.

Exactly what I was going to say. You cant compare work trucks that get a lot of rough treatment with the fancy SUVs that city-boys buy so they look cool driving down the blvd. If you *use* a truck/SUV then buy one, but most SUVs never utilize a quarter of their capacity.

Why in the world are you getting them macbooks? Even without getting into the obvious war of what is "better", it is obviously the wrong choice to supply a bunch of students just on the issue of cost. Thats looking at well over a grand each! And then put it under lockdown so they cant even use the full capacity? Simply moronic. If you want to give a "school" laptop to everyone so they can do homework on, then get some flavor of netbook. If you go with a linux distro then you also solve most of the questions of lockdown. Many kids arent going to even try to learn more of linux than they need for school (ie OpenOffice) and internet browsing. Put on a simple content filter so kids arent browsing porn at school and your set. A small, small minority of nerds are going to learn linux and start hacking it, but those guys area already the kind that are going to buy their own computers anyway.

Are you trying to claim that the laws passed against drug use are only cause of addiction and physiological problems of drug use? Before that it was just hunky-dorry with no drawbacks until those meanies in DC decided to ruin your fun?
