You dont know much about this tech. firstly you have to be damn close for facial recognition to work, only very few systems use HD cameras to be able to work at a distance and then they get overwhelmed when there is more than 5 faces on the camera. Please stop mixing up SciFi with the stuff we really have. In reality, it doesnt work that well because the cops would have it deployed everywhere to have a low effort high capture rate on minor criminals. Even something as simple as the License plate cameras only have an 80% accuracy rate and the cops have to be quite close to you, more than 150 feet away and they cant read a high contrast license plate.
You cant give your buddies multi billion dollar contracts with coins. Plus the damn things keep working decade after decade, and we can not allow that.

Granted my education on cars is limited to ECM and BCM hacking as well as CANBUS reverse engineering..... so I might be wrong, but I highly doubt it as I have NEVER found a blackbox in any car that I have worked on. granted it's only been about 22 different cars and models ranging from 2007 to 2013 and the data saved in the ECM is very limited. Just throttle position, brake pedal activation, and engine data at the time of airbag deployment. your GPS coordinates of the last 30 places you have been are no where to be found inside.
It does when you get that job with nearly $200,000 in debt hanging over your head. $4000+ a month student loan payments make that $95K a year salary look like peanuts it forces you to live as if you were making $40K a year. And if you are screwed and end up working in insane places like California, DC, or NYC for that paltry $95K you are living in a slum as housing prices are criminally high.
If you like crippling debt and no better chances at employment. If you are going into the education field and hope to become a tenured professor, then you need to do it. Otherwise it's just pissing away your money and time.
Even to become one of NASA's top scientists you dont need it.
