I'm all for the end result and the reward system is a great idea, as long as you don't mind that these people will probably make millions by being the first to know of the prior art to major patents and then give you a very small percentage for doing all the work for them.
Heh, Actually, ID people (or creationists) already believe Carbon dating is absolutely unusable beyond about 60,000 years, due the "minuscule amounts" of original carbon left over after about 10 half-lifes (half-life of carbon-14 is ~5730 years) as well as the "probable" contamination of the artifact. They also usually (and conveniently) believe that it is "inaccurate" beyond about 4,000 years (though they do not say how inaccurate it is).
There are also a number of other claims of it's inaccuracy, especially questioning the equilibrium of the radio carbon in the atmosphere, claiming that we cannot know how much was in the atmosphere in the unobservable past, and also claiming that scientists who do the carbon dating "throw out" all the results that do not fit into their personal estimate of the age of the artifact.
My point is, I think this article has very little, if any value to the ID people (150 million years != 4,000 years) and it would be pointless and stupid for them to make an argument by citing this article. Just google "accuracy of carbon dating" for more information from mostly ID/creationist websites.
I agree with "don't" unless it's what you really want to do. Sure, there are a lot of java jobs out there, usually looking for entry level peons they can underpay and overwork (at least, that's what I see when looking at jobs).
If you want a respectable job, it should be easier to find if you have a lot of experience in one or 2 areas you have focused on and enjoy. Having 7 years of experience in 7 different languages will most likely not get you the job that requires even 5 years of experience in one of those languages (especially in today's job market). Plus it really helps if you enjoy the language (and typical applications of it) you work with.
Properly adjust your brightness and contrast (or get a new one). Though I admit, it's not the best color choice for the background, it's not bad on a correctly balanced monitor.
I've been using verified by visa for some time now, but every time I make a "large" purchase online, EVEN AFTER verifying my visa password, visa still puts a hold on my card and calls a few DAYS later if I don't call them first, asking me to verify my purchases... Tell me how useful that is?
maybe if they cut back on all the 'features' there would be fewer problems. Anyone else in favor of windows 7 being built from scratch? They could always include an XP virtual machine. Maybe they don't do it because it might end up being too much like Linux...
You might want to check your reading level, even the sub title says "EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION" not PROOF. From what I read, it sounds like they don't even know how the observed change occurred, it doesn't say that they know for a fact it was evolution.
how do you know it's a lie? have you proven creationism to be a lie and not told anyone? while you're at it you might as well tell everyone how you proved evolution as fact while the rest of the world is still trying...
scientifically, i suppose that's true, but tell me, where did science come from? can you prove, with only science, that all the laws of science have always existed, or explain how our 1 in 10^99999999999999999999999999999999999 chance of evolving into an intelligent species just happened even though out of the millions of stars we've studied ours is one of very few that might possibly contain a planet that might possible support life? Just curious. you can blindly accept evolution as fact and assume everything else is wrong, or you can at least give it some thought with an open mind and see WHY someone might be inclined to believe such irrational nonsense as ID. I didn't say you had to believe it.
Please explain to me how teaching evolution as the ONLY theory, and often teaching it as fact, is any more rational than providing a single alternative, even if it is more philosophical than scientific?
I could say the same for evolutionists... they act as if natural selection is proof or something... OMG, my jellybeans just evolved, they're all black now! set another bag in front of me and see if it happens again, then we can label it as fact!
I'm sorry, but evolution is not fact yet, if it was, this would be a very different topic.
Evolution has just as much of a lack of evidence as Intelligent Design. I'll be the first to admit ID has virtually no scientific evidence (and I won't even get into the debate of whether or not it is a scientific theory), but on the other hand, neither is there any concrete scientific evidence of evolution, apart from the strong surviving over the week, which can hardly be used to back up macro-evolution.
I grew up in 3 different states, and in each state, while my teachers did teach evolution as theory, I knew far too many people that believed it was fact, NOT a theory, because of how their teachers presented it to them at such a young age without giving them an alternative. Just let poor gullible children think for themselves for once!
This woman is acting like the law is changing the facts... sounds to me like they are trying to allow teachers to present both sides of the argument... I thought we WANTED our children to learn how to think on their own, not to be spoon fed theories that are widely accepted (and taught) as fact but still not proven.
And I'm still amazed at the lack of respect and insight college professors (no offense to you, as I don't know you, but ALL of my college professors) have on the real world. I have great respect for academics as well as their research and reading materials, but seriously... All of my professors thought they knew everything about programming and good design in the real world... but each of them had little more than a few years of experience (anywhere from 0 to 10 years, usually in just one area of software development) in the real world and they were the ones writing the books and articles on software design!!!!
I personally would very much like to see SERIOUS answers to this question because even though I am a slightly experienced programmer and software designer, I would very much like to see what the more experienced IT Professionals (who may not be writing books & articles) have to say about what works for them.
BTW (if I may rant for a moment), each of my CS Professors told me I'd never find the job I currently have because it doesn't exist... yet here I am, for 3 years strong, straight out of college with the "impossible" job. Apparently, according to them, I am the ONLY programmer that performs the entire software design process by myself without having to physically write out every step and document every detail for my superiors... AND all from home.
So? If you live in America you want to be protected right? How can the government protect you during an emergency if their hands are completely tied behind their backs and stapled to their rears?
"No! don't arrest that known terrorist! you don't have any hard core proof! let him set off a bomb and kill 3 million Americans first, THEN you can arrest him!"
I think our government does a pretty darn good job protecting our rights and our safety with minimal invasion of privacy or infringement of our rights. Personally, I don't care if they eaves drop on me 24/7 if it helps catch a terrorist or drug dealer.. it's the people that are doing illegal things that complain about illegal surveillance and warrantless searches... they're just mad because they got CAUGHT!
it's obvious English is not his first language, thus his attempt at a dramatic reading is going to be a little off (or a lot in this case). I'm sure I'd sound much worse in a second or 3rd language.
The demo shows the player standing up. Who is going to stand for 4 hours while they play their favorite game? ok, so you can sit down too, just had to mention it.. how about these:
1. Location of the projector: you have to set up your $200 dome a fair distance from your $$$ projector. So in your home, you're now sitting with your back to the wall facing your living room hoping no one walks between your dome and your projector, which must sit directly in front of you to project on the entire dome.
2. You actually LOSE screen resolution. you can do the same thing with your flat monitor (change the FOV to 180), it just looks funky, and the center of the screen now has fewer pixels and thus loses clarity.
not the first time i've seen a joomla site /.ed. pretty sure its not the server.

sounds like a cover up for a terrorist who has been working in Homeland Security for years and got caught making a phone call!
that is, if you have an active imagination...

everyone knows that if you follow one "green" rule, your product is automatically green.

It's a $200 white, round umbrella. Then you still have to buy your own projector? I don't see anything new, apart from a new use for an umbrella.
