"Second of all, all you parents in the room.... pointless stereotyping and rage...."
I am a parent in this room. My son is nothing like that. I would say that I don't know any of the kids in his school are like you describe. Those stereotype that people like to throw around are just bullshit. They are probably the same things people said about you when you were in school; and its just as invalid now, as it was then.
What IS different know, is a concerted 'attack?' on PUBLIC school teachers. I am not sure why. My sister is a third grade teacher, I assume she does a good job. She is however, dirt poor because of low pay and still ends up buying her own room supplies. I am not sure why anyone would want to be a public school teacher these days. Maybe thats the goal.
Why don't you look in the mirror and ask yourself why you like to think and write about whore school girls in see through leggings with no underwear.
" they had signed with the programmer, an agreement for the developer to be compensated by royalties for the first edition and any derivative works" FTFY
The fact that a jury already found his claim valid, and he is only asking for compensation from the first few editions of Madden (not all versions up to current gen), makes me think he probably is due compensation.
But, you now how lawyers are. I am sure the EA lawyers can prove that the sky is green....."it depends on what your definition of 'is' is..."
This sounded interesting, until I went to the site. I don't own any apple devices and I don't use facebook or twitter. I see a small link to create an account with an email address...but I get the sneaky suspicion that this site is less about news and more about harvesting user data to sell. Oh well. I might be wrong.
How many people will go to the Sherpa team's site, get incorrect or inaccurate information, and decide that the exchange is not their best option? (even if it is)
In my armchair opinion, it seems like when you make something scarse and hard to get, people want it more (especially with the wealthy looking for status symbols). This might be good for Tesla sales.
The bottleneck is at the point of where you make your first connection to the online service. Everyone is required to do a set of tutorial missions before joining the real servers.
They have it setup like an mmo where the missions are instances. Once you FINALLY get past the tutorial there are almost no problems. In fact, the lobbies I played in where not even full.
Of course, there are things that don't apply too.... Big Brother... had perfect propaganda in place. I am very skeptical such a thing does or could exist today.
Maybe you are not a US citizen. If so, have you ever heard of Fox News? and how their messages are aligned with their print and radio distribution channels?
Look at it this way: one guy invented peanut butter...while some other guy was working on chocolate.....fast forward to the future and we have delicious peanut butter cups.
I am glad they are perfecting this aspect. When the AI is smart enough (and compact enough), it will have a suitable container to be put into.
On that day we will welcome or new robotic overlords (or sexy fembots).
You bring up a point I don't seem to hear from any pundits or industry watchers (though I don't listen very hard either).
The excitement around facebook and mobile gaming is starting to drain on people. The smart phone revolution is over. People have gotten used to the new shiny and are starting to go back to their former entertainment.
When my mom says she is tired of the farm games and tired of facebook (of which only a year ago she would never spend more than a few minutes away from), thats when I know they are on a downhill slide.....probably to a stable point, but definately not the peak they saw when it was all new tech to the 'non nerds'.
I love your USA centric thinking. I am an avid user of both Udacity and Coursera. I would take a guess that easily 90% of people using these sites are not U.S. citizens.
That number is more troubling to me than any pass/fail rates. There doesn't seem to be a love of learning in USA.
I admit that the emails he sent were pretty funny, but, the people asking for help weren't the ones not fixing the email address screwup. He could have easily had a stock response set up to respond to each of these describing Zynga's mistake and unwillingness to fix it.
I could see people not familiar with technology, e.g. my mom, who would think that clicking slowly 5 times was a real thing. Then, regardless of how many times I explained to her that it doesn't work like that, there would have been the one anecdotal instance that it did 'work' that would forever reinforce her belief.
*p.s. - the canada day one was the best.
I could not find this in a search. Here is a link to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
I had a teacher who was a minotaur. We complained to the superintendant but he wouldn't do anything.
He would show up 20 minutes late, shit all over the floor, and complain about the humans who tresspass in his forest.
He wasn't even trying to do his job, but I guess competence or dedication of a teacher can never be questioned.
This is a true story. Its on the internet so you know its true.

Steak magnetic card strips....mmm
The original pig for the cloning was hired by a man named Tyranus.
This should be posted on a political forum. Maybe slashdot could create a second site for stories like this.
I don't know about you, but when it comes to the only livable planet we know of, and my current home, I would prefer we err on the side of caution.
It looks like this is only supported on VS2012 and VS2013 Premium (and up) editions.
..or, how about the contrary?

I imagine the SEC would care if they are falsifying data.

That first tutorial instance is the problem.
I am gratefull for these Yahoo stories the last few months. I keep forgetting Yahoo even exists. I visit them about as often as I do AOL.

... nor can they rewrite history.
Maybe you are not paying attention http://www.theguardian.com/world/2010/may/16/texas-schools-rewrites-us-history
Seriously? I hate being one of those gramar nazi's, but....does anyone even proof read these submissions?

My vote is for Nick Frost. That would be pretty cool.

I thought we learned from MegaUpload that you don't completely rely on an online storage service.
The Bill passes and...the park is immediately closed due to budget cuts.
Tell you what though; I will be first in line to apply for the position of park ranger for this one.

I heard there is a new app coming out called Fakeblock. It should help with this.
George Maharris is going to be the next Zuckerberg.
