I've personally seen two signs of mountain lions, this last year while hunting. The areas were about 150 miles apart.
All I'm really trying to say is that yes, if I was a rancher I would carry a fairly high powered rifle with me, especially out west. A mountain lion, can and will eat you given a chance. Although, it will probably get you, before you even know it's there.
Also, a herd of cows is much easier for a mountain lion to kill, then a few deer in the forest. Deer are hard to kill, even with camo, food, and high powered rifles. I would much rather hunt cows for food, then deer.
This is true, but coyotes are truly oppurtunistic feeders. That's what makes them such great survivors. They will eat whatever, whenever they can. When numbers are high, they breed less, when numbers are low, they breed more often. Talk to any Game and Fish biologist, and they will tell you what a problem they are becoming. Most states are not even treating them like game animals anymore. It's kill as many as you can, as often as you can.
Depends on the road. If it's a paved road,on the very outside of is land, then no he shouldn't have a problem. If it's a dirt road on his land, then he can have a problem. If it's a public road that runs between his two pieces of his land, then he can have a problem.
This is a vast overstatement. A pack of coyotes can, and will take down cows, sheep, dogs, deer, elk, and many other animals. A lot of it depends on natural prey available, and domesticated livestock. A cow will feed a pack of coyotes for quite awhile with little investment from the pack, while a rabbit is a meal for a day for a single coyote.
First, the mountain lion numbers are a lie. Have you ever tried to find a mountain lion that did not want to be found. It's impossible. I live in Arkansas, and technically they don't exist, but ask some of my hunting buddies around here. We have a very large breeding population. Also, coyotes, wolves, and mountain lions pose a serious threat to a ranchers livelihood. Mountain lions kill at least one large herd animal a week. So that's 50,000 * 52= 2.6 million animals a year. That's a serious problem. Not to mention how much coyotes, and wolves can eat too.
Most ranchers carry weapons with them to shoot at predators, especially out west. They have major problems with reintroduced wolves. Also, mountain lions and coyotes are responsible for a lot of livestock deaths.
I tend to agree with your points. I have two daughters in elementary, different schools same district. And my older one hasn't learned anything in the last month because of the standardized testing that was going on at the end of the school. I think they are pointless.
I thought it has always been illegal to deface American Money.
"Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States; or

I agree, but I'm still against them legislating common sense. It just won't work. I would rather see cigarettes outlawed instead. Of course, that would create all kinds of other problems (look at prohibition). I just don't agree with the govt. telling me when I can and can't smoke.
You make a good point, I've never agreed with BMI. Most people are considered overweight, or even obese by it's standards. That's why people think it's such a problem.
Smokers and obese people are sick more often, use more sick days, and spend more health care dollars. This is untrue, I miss a heck of a lot less work than any non-smoker does. My wife misses a lot less school, than any of the pregnant people, or non-smokers do. So until you have some hard-core evidence to present. I'll have to think you believe whatever the govt. or news media tells you.
This is the simple truth. Businesses are not public property, they are privately owned places. I smoke, and I don't smoke in restaurants, because it rude to people who don't smoke, but the government should not be able to legislate private property. In my state it is now illegal for me to smoke in my car if I can any of my children under 3 with me. Again I think that should not be legislated by the govt. I don't smoke in my house, or my car if my kids are with me. I should be able to make that choice, not have it govt. mandated.
Yes, as a Christian we should apologize for our sins, and misdeeds, but the current leadership is not responsible for what happened 150 years ago. Apologizing now does no good for those that were massacred. Again, I don't care how many times the US govt. apologizes for the Trail of Tears, it won't bring back my ancestors, or make me feel any better.
The fact is that events that happened before anybody today was born does not need to be apologized for. No one has anything to be sorry for. My people were forced along the trail of tears, but I don't feel that the United States government owes me anything personally. I wish it hadn't happened, but it did. As they say hindsight is 20/20. The leaders at the time did the will of the people. In another 100 years, my children will be taking the blame for the state of Iraq, because of what our elected leaders thought today. Things that happened 150 years ago are bygones, let them be.

But I don't see anything about emails, but let us know if you do.
I seriously doubt the current or any administration would put such information in their email. I picture more face to face in dark alleys meetings.
Maybe China finally figured out the ???. 1. Fight MS 2. Get Bribed 3. Profit

Well that would make it even more expensive to fence and post. I live in Arkansas, and most of our ranches are a couple hundred acres at most.

Do you know the cost to fence several thousand acres?

I wish I had mod points, cause that was really funny.

Nice list, but nobody's ever going to do Heinlein right.

Only next to Kobe beef. Over a hundred dollars/lb.

Or maybe they are handed down by God, to get people on the right track.

Naw, this time it will have to do with the oil. And God.
I'm not geeky enough for that much science.
Unless they were having sex while she had a monthly visitor, but I don't expect slashdotters to know anything about sex.
