That patents must not disparage? A lot of patented work is far more cut a dry disparaging others than this. Also when they were filed obviously they were not meant to disparage. There were/are a baseball team, and a baseball team would not call themselves a disparaging name.
Do the Michigan State Spartans disparage Spartans? Not really. So a team named the redskins does not disparage native americans.
There are some important parts you are leaving out. Decent tools can be used for evil or for good, like how conventional explosives can save thousands of lives a years by taking away much of the effort of mining. And they can be used in warfare in a reasonably safe fashion against an enemy's military. Yes, killing hundreds, thousands, or millions, but exclusively adult male military personnel. Sure, you add in some small margin of error but it is still minimal. And yes you can carpet bomb an entire continent, or lace the ground with billions of mines and then forget where you put them; But the need to specifically decide to use them for such nefarious ends. The point of nukes is to create a bomb so large that there are no existing valid military targets, the only targets that big are cities filled with women and children.
Which here would indicate that women are either significantly more tech capable, or their is signifigant favoritism coming on. What is there like 5% women in the tech industry? So why are Google and yahoo hireing so much above the countries/worlds average?
The rest of the tech industry must be a pure sausage fest, because these numberes make it look they have hired every woman who even just took cs in highschool.
I have had similar thoughts with the game publisher market. You would think that [insert big name publisher here] would have enough sense to not plaster a product with their name if the sole purpose of that product was to con people into buying it with false promises.
"it's the Universities name at stake when they claim students who pass are of their standard."
Well not really for a single course. People do not often get jobs for passing a single high school AP course. I have a friend who passed a course in univ who did not know he was enrolled in until the day before the final exams.
And the point of AP for the universities is to sink their claws into the advanced students, and get them to come there after high school. The type of students who use advanced placement are not the type who will be failing or dropping out at 80%.
What? I can share IKEA hacking techniques, but I must do it on a website plastered with Babylon 5 posters? and it must be called "The Swedish ready-to-assemble furniture company who must not be named Hacking".
When referring to IKEA furniture you have to use their name, and an IKEA fan site will have an IKEA style, with IKEA colors.
It is pretty obvious that such a site should just be placing the "we are unofficial" disclaimer somewhere up front.
High School is completely different than college. If you show up to class in Highschool it is the teacher's job to make sure you pass, and courses do not cost you money either way, so almost no one drops courses
I do not know why anyone with any sense would worry about low enrollment in CS. A significant number of people do not get Math, and if you do not get Math becoming a programmer is just stupid. CS is a niche subject, worry about how those few in it perform, not filling up classrooms.
So what is "Affordable" supposed to mean for subsistence farmers? What does affordable mean to somewho who cannot even conceive of the concept of money, for someone not even able to conceive of the concept of numbers?
Affordable is not a word that even makes sense to use in the same sentence as 2/3 of the 2/3s.
That the official operating procedure for the biggest military on Earth, many times over, is to buy mission critical equipment from anywhere that will sell it the cheapest and to not have any redundancy in place to ensure continued supply or alternatives?
What is the point of even having a military if that military requires good relationships with all other powerful nations on Earth to continue to function. I can only imagine the level of damage a Chinese embargo would do.
I sort of thought that we knew what they ate, and it was raw meat. You occasionally hear about people taking up "Paleo" diets and what they means is they eat raw meat exclusively, sometimes in any level of rot.
Well of course they never considered themselves a group. The indians were also never a single group.
When you do not know about the larger world and are ignorant of people wildly different from you you self divided into groups based on smaller differences.
It does not matter that Eskimo people never considered themselves one people, now that they have been catalogued, they need one.
Stores or every type found out years ago that the "best" way to arrange their store was not one that make it easy to navigate it was one in which it made its customers get lost and wander around, and pass certain things in certain orders, etc. It does not matter if we are talking about hardware stores or casinos, this is always true, so why not for digital stores?
"Worse case, nothing comes out of this. HP shrugs, files a whole pile of patent applications. Someone else takes bits and pieces of it (like IBM) and does cool things with it. In all three cases HP is going to be enhance their IP portfolio and possibly make their stock worth more."
Aren' patents great. Even if you fail to invent anything that works you can just file a general patent for the technology and claim royalties on a design that someone else actually gets to work, in perpetuity.
There is no way that would do any more than tingle a little and shock (sociologically). That is the reason you can handle them freely, as they are no more powerful than a battery; So their diodes an be handled without fear or even a minor shock (absent presence in mouth).
Not only does this not support most devices, since most do not have wireless charging abilities, but it does not even support most wireless charging devices.
Except that all programmers must take into consideration the limitation of hardware.
If I am writing a program for a 2K ram embedded device I do not write it in Java and I do not write it the same. And if I am writing a Flash type game I do not want to be writing it in C++ and I am not writing it as some universal app, because then it will suck in both use cases.
So they are saying the reason the desktop is winning is because it has hundreds and hundreds of programming languages to choose from?
Never mind that 99% of all programs are written in C/C++ and.9% use Java/C#.
If anything the web actually has more *actively used* languages. To be a web developer you need to know JS/JQ, PHP, HTML, HTML5, XML, CSS, Flash/AS, and maybe a little Perl, ActiveX, ect. 99% of desktop developers only know C++, and only need to know C++. If you want to be highly adaptable know how to work in Java based languages and work with DBs.
So basically, you can still teach God as an evidence based theory, but not that evolution does not exist?

Being Asian seems to work pretty well.

Citation needed.

Except apparently the loss of those imports are already shutting down programs and canceling missions...

It sounds like it should save the government money.

Btrfs "pronounced "Butterface"" - Wikipedia
Lol.
Strangely that acronym could also stand for BiT Rot Free System which is pretty ironic, I guess.

This Google Engineer is a certified idiot.
