Umm, what about protecting adults? Seriously, I don't want websites collecting info about me. Damn Real.com had to start the privacy issue by requesting all people give them their names and emails! Why is it that i have to lose all my privacy once i sign on the internet? Oh well, it's not going to change anything, im still going to give fake names, fake emails, fake everything AND start saying im 8 years old to take advantage of children's rights
Here's my take on it... I only knew of one company Hasbro was suing, i don't remember the name of the company but the company pretty much developed an almost exact duplicate of frogger and asteroids and packaged it in a bog VERY similiar to Hasbro's packaging. The only difference was that they sold their version for 10 bucks cheaper. I can see why Hasbro sued them. But it is completely WRONG of hasbro to sue for "gameplay concepts" Capcom tried this about 5-7 years ago against Data East for their game, Fighter's Destiny. almost the characters were copies of Street Fighter 2, but the kicker is that the actual gameplay was almost identical! the Ryu equivalent had all the same movies and etc... and guess what... Capcom LOST! I'm guessing the main reason HAsbro won was because the companies made it look to much like the original and that might have skewed the judge's perspective, in my opinion, the judge presiding over the case should retire.
Gifs look a hell of a lot more cleaner than jpg for anything under 256 colors, plain and simple. If you have photoshop, create a new document at 1024x768 pixels. fill it in with a color (im using yellow (FFEA10)) I saved the pic in jpg format (highest and lowest settings) and gif. jpg (highest setting) = 56.4 kb jpg (lowest setting) = 13.2 kb gif = 1.49 kb I remember seeing an example of a pie graph with only 30 some colors, jpg simply butchered the graph while gif did a perfect representation of it. I don't use PNG because it's not widely accepted as gif (netscape and a few programs don't see transparancy) and PNG doesn't do animations.
Re:MP3 players -hate to prove you wrong but...
on
Sega Dreamcast: $0
·
· Score: 1
the original article is here http://dreamcast.ign.com/news/17480.html the mp3 player will have 64 megs, less than 100 dollars and it will be a vmu peripheral. The 2.0 version of the dreamcast browser will allow the downloading of mp3's (the current one doesn't)
Damnit... I forgot about this... there's a website starting up soon (I caught only a part of it on tv a month ago) where they pay you to render scenes from a movie... but you know, distributed
Dinosaur is impressive... but not nearly as impressive as final fantasy... To me, at some points it looks like the monkeys have been transposed onto the film, like there in front of a blue screen, and the dinosaurs too. And everything has this faded look to it... the scenery is fantastic though, nothing wrong with that. Thats my comments on Dinosaur. From what I've seen, FF looks to be much better, but there lies the problem, no one has seen any clips of the movie in a "real" setting... and that it's a lot more harder to duplicate CG humans than CG animals because were used to seeing humans in everyday life and if something appears "iffy" we notice it right away, whereas with dino's, we don't have that hesitation because no one has ever seen a real dino
Didn't i read something about stamps of the 80's a couple of years ago? Yeah I did... The only design that I can remember that was approved at the time was Mario. Mario was approved for the 80's stamps or video game stamps... it's one of the two
Hah! Yeah right, the same man that thought "What's the big deal if we accidentally send a nuke?" He actually thought that we could call a nuke back if we sent it by accident. His advisors (they're the smart ones, not Reagan) told him that the Star Wars projects was a bad idea... he spent one afternoon with the person heading the star wars project and agreed to spend billions on a dead project. Oh, what was that alien quote? he said something like, if there were proof of aliens how would you all react? His advisors were furious! I'll try to find some more Reagan follies later. Just because he was a nice man with "impecable morals and pure intentions" doesn't make him a great man. Just because you surround yourself with great men, doesn't make you a great man. If there was going to be a stamp it should be of Reagans advisors for practically saving the US from what Reagan could have done. Don't get me wrong, he was a very nice man and a good actor. He genuinely cared for this country (unlike Billy up in DC), but his advisors were the brains.
The X-Box looks really lame... first off... more powerful than the ps2 (much less the dolphin?) a PIII 733 can't hold a candle to the ps2, will 1ghz really make much of a difference? Great... now to play games im going to HAVE to download patches all the time. One reason why I like consoles more than computer (for gaming) is that I don't have to deal with patches. I take comfort in buying a game and not having to connect to the net to download what should have been fixed before it was rushed. The X-Box is a joke... hmm.. lemme see... if i buy a 486dx2 50, 4 megs of ram, a video card, a dvd drive, a video card and motherboard... that'll come out to around 80$ Now is microsoft trying to say they can get a 1GHz chip, 64 megs of ram, a dvd drive (w/ full movie functions/licensing costs) and all the other little stuff for only double the amount? Microsoft must have some type of magical ass to pull that out of.
Is it just me or does The Tick allready seem more interesting than the upcoming X-Men movie? Yes... even though they haven't announced any other characters or costume design, i can only see it being better than xmen
A few months ago, when molecular computers were in the news, my newspaper printed a story. One section of that story sticks out in my mind, it said something to the effect of... a cupfull of molecular computers can have more processing power than all of the computers combined today. Now, we have the possibility of atomic sized computers (well, not immediately, in the future I mean). Ok, now for an off topic question... now, i remind you, i don't know much about quantum theory, mechanics and computers... but im trying my best. Would quantum computers make (nth generation) atomic sized computers absolete? Since (i think) w/ quantum computers you would have the computations allready there, done. Man, computers are gonna be sweet after im long and dead;) yiasas
off topic but ha! I'd like to see the crusoe try to emulate the emotion engine. But sony has the right idea... come out with some kick ass hardware so if people try to emulate your software (bleem) it would be slow as hell and not really worth it
>> Within 4 years the PS2 is expected to top 100 million Bull. Within 4 years the PS2 will be dead and there will be a PS3. DVD has been out for what? 2-3 years and it's nowhere near 100 million units. DVD players are also cheaper than a PS2. I really don't see the PS2 getting to 100 million units
How about mind control? I remember watching a PBS special on this... oh.. about 5 years ago and it showed a guy playing a rather simple bowling game by using a small apparatus that surrounded his head. It wasn't big at all. But they did mention how you had to train yourself to become accustomed to it. I wondered whatever happened to it?

I'm not sure how long it took to render, but each model (person) took 18 months to create
