it's a local portland oregon isp, and i've had very little problems with them. biggest one being that they spelled my username wrong. i called them up, and they fixed it. gosh, how terrible. and only 20 a month, plus 30 from the telco. anyhow, i think like anything, go with somthing small and local, and you should be ok.
i was seriously addicted to both civ2, ac and command and conquer. all the sequals to c&c sucked though. they just flogged the dead horse. to death all over again.
homeworld is an amazing and original game. if you like strategy games, i suggest you take a look.
at least, with my friends. because, they move around a fair amount, and regardless, they still can use the same hotmail address. it's not because hotmail is that great.
a good many of them have gotten accounts on my server and are using some webmail scripts that i'm using instead of hotmail however. kinda a cool feeling, to be replacing hotmail:)
so hey, all us geeks with our own mail servers, should offer our friends and family mail accounts that they can use for life.
i dare you to show me some numbers that prove this. sales have gone up since the whole mainstream mp3 thing. and i've bought over 1/2 my cd collection because i found some of it in mp3, and liked it.
lyrics. oh please... some of us like to know what mr. stipe is mumbling in his songs. we're not going to sell the lyrics, we just want to read them. i don't think thats wrong.
tabs. yeah... illegal to play a song that someone else wrote! if not for tabs, i know a lot of people who would never have learned to play a guitar. this is just ridiculous.
as far as i know it should be the secret service or nsa. however, crimes of this nature that can be commited far from our soil are basicaly new, so i think there will be a bit of 'uh... who should do it?' for awhile.
maybe i saw another movie... but i saw one with silly graphics, with little kids using macs, and showing unix mainframes as swirling 3d gui's that made noise when you typed commands.
i did enjoy it, the characters are fun, the the realism is lacking.
great, but i'm tired of people at work asking me why windows locks up on them all the time, and they lose their work. i tell them. it's windows. i get looks like i'm crazy, and life goes on.
"I personally feel it is too bad that the Linux community can't agree to build on one graphical environment."
i personally feel that he's a moron. considering he's only mentioned 2 desktop environments. and seems to belive there are 2 competing. what about XFCE, IceWM, Blackbox, WindowMaker, Afterstep, Sawfish, Enlightenment... only 1/5 of the linux users i know actually use KDE or GNOME. the rest of us like our other choices.
what it comes down to is. i belive people want and deserve choices. i think this is somthing microsoft will always manage to bungle. honestly, if KDE or GNOME was the only choice for a gui in open source operating systems... i'd probably go use solaris or os x instead.
oh well, more evidence that microsoft is against choice of any kind.
who needs em? get a KVM:) i've only got one monitor but, i can have 4 computers on it. this comes in quite handy when building new boxes actually. or machines you don't need a monitor on most of the time... like servers...
*sigh* ok, i guess it's not your fault you know jack....
there's a bug aparently with my motherboards chipset and nvidia cards using the default drivers in xfree86. i had the exact same issues in 3.3.6, 4.0.1, 4.02.... before i installed the nvidia drivers.
i've talked to many people who've had this problem. i'm pretty sure there's mailing list archives discussing it if you really want to search.
