    A couple of months without electricity? I'll grab my camping stuff from the loft. Shelter, fire, water, food, in that order. I can get that within walking distance of my home, and I don't mean from a store.

    I know it's almost cliche to make a joke about "not going outside" on /. but I'm sure the people who can't fend for themselves will be able to get a job aiding the repair in exchange for their vital requirements.

    The Gram stain has been around for over 100 years. If people start thinking a particular Gram type is scary then I'm going to have a few angry years.

    Never happen. Between terrorists, paedophiles, and corporate / government overlords the entire "Boogeyman" stack is full.

    Plus, too many Daily Fail readers will be confused by the name "Gram" and think that you can combat infection by getting your meds in Imperial units of volume.

    I find it interesting that after many years of stories about the impossibility of cellphone radiation having any damaging effect due to its low power, we suddenly hear this story about the positive effects it has. One of the two can't be true.

    I'll stick with my favoured LLU ADSL ISP (Andrews and Arnold - No filtering, no shaping, almost constantly get max connection speed in my area (8Mb/s), first line support is an engineer, not a child with a script).

    Indeed. I was just thinking "Hey, I could go out to work for a month, do 8 hours a day in a confined space staring at a computer screen, being breathed on by a boss who thinks that 30 seconds on /. is a sackable offence, stressed out of my mind as my skillset is quite over-subscribed at the moment and if I lose my job I'll be in a highly competitive workplace, or I could pull a kitchen knife from my home, go around to the closest atm, wait for someone to stick in their pin, and have all of their money!"

    Work isn't easy. If it was, we wouldn't be paid to do it.

    Why pick names which have connotations of either juvenile behaviour or stealing from copyright musicians and Hollywood?

    I know they're not, but Joe Sixpack doesn't, will glaze over at the first mention of "P2P" "Bittorrent" or "deep packet inspection" and come away with the idea that some bum kids want to watch free porn at the expense of his paycheque.

    FFS, get a clue about politics. Image means a hell of a lot, and "Gamers 4 ..." or "... Pirate Party" are not names which help you.

    We need 5m people to prevent the labels killing internet freedom with ACTA.

    With 5m members willing to vote, you could get more seats in European Parliament than Labour, Liberal Democrats, UKIP, and the Green Party combined Many more than the Conservatives hold by themselves, and the same as Labour and Conservative together.

    I believe you with your 5m people making a difference, but a facebook group isn't the way. Get voters.
