That's great if you're shifting the whole program. Once you edit out only the specific parts you want, though (songs, in this case) that stops being the case.

There is case law on the subject, but not for radio. With radio, there is no program schedule; You cannot pre-program your cassette deck to record a specific song, in order to listen to it later. I understand that this was fundamental in the recording of TV shows cases, where "timeshifting" a recording was allowed, therefore recording a show on TV is allowed, as you may not be present for the entire show, or any of it at all. However, you will be present (within earshot) of your radio for listening to the 3 minute song which you enjoy.

No citations, as I can't find any, but it at least makes sense.

I've found through many community Windows Mobile ROM updates that stability, battery life, and performance all improve once you remove vendor cruft and lock-in features. Being able to trim / grow cache sizes can make all the difference to UI response, screen sensitivity can be tinkered with to your preferences (for instance, I type with my thumb, but use the part roughly 45 degrees from the tip to type with, so calibrating with the in-built tool is never accurate for my preference), as well as unlocking hidden features like tethering, overclocking, disabling unwanted services which consume battery life... Plus, when you have community software (at least in my experience) you're only a message board post away from the developer, who will help you resolve any issues you have.

Because, you know, it's a community.

This is the major difference between PC and console gaming. The PC game GUI is designed to be seen from a distance of less than 1m whereas console games are designed to have the player sat well past that distance away from the screen.

Try playing an RPG while sat on your sofa and see how easy reading the text is. The only are where this may not count is console ports, but even then the UI is sometimes badly scaled and unreadable. Further, consider that the average PC monitor has a much higher resolution compared to screen size (my 24" screen has been better-than-1080p before HDTV was available, yet the 37" TV in the living room is only 720p).

Saying that, though, I bet for the same price (or a little more) than you'd pay on decent air cooling for your gaming rig + this card, you could water cool the whole thing and have it make less noise than your mouse moving over the desk surface.
