    I suppose Murdoch does not know about crawler-friendly robots.txt on his sites. These files are added by pragmatic subordinates who very well understand the importance of being crawler friendly and basically understand that we live in the information age. Murdoch has long since ceased to be a visionary.

    During WW2 the GM engineers at Opel built the famous Blitz truck which was heavily used against the US forces. Opel were also manufacturing jet engines for the German Me-262 jet fighter, which was much faster than its American rival Mustang (powered by the British-made Merlin). First the war went all ugly and now no bailouts - well, life is unfair.

    True, some of us are married with kids, some of us are elf wizards or airline pilots. It doesn't matter whether you play The Sims, World of Warcraft or MS Flight Simulator - you can't change what you are - a slashdotter. I'm already past the denial phase and it really set me free, though I do still cry occasionally when I think nobody is looking. Who said becomming a Jedi Knight would be easy?
