They just see it as "the internet". They aren't aware that their browser needs an upgrade, and they certainly wouldn't know how to actually install it.
Tell them their internet needs an update because of all the viruses flying about on the old one and then install firefox3
Wow at least this crap is at the bottom of the page now, i was expecting all 300 comments to be "awesome bar sucks".
I hated auto-complete well enough before, now it has gone to the next level of annoyance.
Wait so you hated autocompletion and now your bitching that they changed it, well simply turn the whole thing off and go back to an adressbox
The best I can manage is to make it look like the original address bar.
The code is out there, with so much whining you'd think somebody would have made a patch already, and if they haven't then congratulations you can be the 1st!
If they were smaller, perhaps. As it is however, I can't stand the amount of room the drop-down takes up. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to flow well for me, as the URL and page title have a large degree of visual disconnect.
Change the settings imstead of moaning about it, theres oldbar for those too lazy but otherwise just use google to find the about:config line to reduce the thing to a single line per entry and 4/5 entries and STFU.
"Chinese projects"? You do realize that Chinese people use the same kinds of software as everyone else, right? And that Chinese coders can (and do) contribute to the same open-source projects as everyone else, right? Yeah but the comments are a bitch to read
It would explain the lack of "china rocks, fuck tibet" "the US is bad too" (like that magically means what china do is ok) posts that have popped up so far in this topic.
I think it's idiotic for these project leaders are attaching their pet causes to software with bunch of contributors. It should be a rule to keep one's politics separate from such projects.
Why? they give you the software, if you cant stand getting a bit of politics with that, then mirror it elsewhere without the politics.
HUD, project an overlay onto a section of your windscreen (preferably somewhere fairly high). Aslong as its got low opacity and not in the middle of your view it shouldnt interfere with driving. Try having an IM/IRC window over your browser at about 20%, most of the time you looks straight through to the browser, but if you want to check your IM you just focus differently, not exactly the same so probably worth the goverment making sure its safe first (unless your a libritarian in which case youll probably just trust them because a company would never do anything bad right) but it gives you an idea of what they could do.
We're finally getting to a level of technology with rasterization where we're producing visuals at a level which is "Good Enough" (or better) for practically every genre. Do we really need to get on the hardware treadmill for the next 10 years to get to a similar technology level to get slightly more realistic lighting and reflections? Highlighted because nobody else seams to understand that you agree that raytracing is better but are saying that its unneeded. Hell for most genres (stratergy,RPG,arcade, puzzle) i doubt that graphics make any difference to playability at all.
I completely agree but the fact is most people are consumerist bitches, and will end up buying whatever were told is best , games will then all move to raytracing, meaning everybody will be forced to even if like you and I, they don't give a shit about having slightly more realistic shadow.
Define better. Also font making doesnt lend it self to collaboration, basically you need 100 font making drones to try their hardest and then you tell 99 of them to go home. Companies don't mind doing this but if you didn't even get paid to make your font, youd be pretty pissed when it hours of your work are ditched in favor of something with a few more curly bits.
But did they break the API? hassle distributors (not even sure who 'distributes' gmail) to only ship their product? steal code? (not that ms did this)
If not then they only did the legal part of what Microsoft did, if these guys really had a better product they would have been fine (TBH Netscape would probably have been OK anyway, if the hadn't sucked so much )
not even first post, do you guys ever think about killing yourselves instead of bothering with this crap, i mean even twitter managed to get FP around here today, what happend to you GNAA, i thought u \/\/3R3 +3h 1337?
What are you doing here? you dont know how to run scripts? seriously its literally copy and paste. dont know how to compile? cat INSTALL is all you need to read, maybe cat README
now im no ubergeek, im only just learning my 1st (programming ) language and it took me two days to figure out that my NetworkManager was stopping my packet sniffing program (well there was some pirating and gaming going on in the middle, but well Im a geek if my internet isn't working for a bit I go back to playing solitar & then when it is working I need to make sure by pirating some movie or tv series (on the ethical grounds that that way no Scientology gets paid for it)), but yes anyway, my point was that if your not even geeky enough to run scripts then WTF are you doing here?
Do you even read XKCD?
oh and as for the haze of spelling and grammatical errors above, sleep deprivation (its what geeks do)
Dear shill #59329, that app simply removes notepad.
P.S I should warn you that Stallman may be armed with a katana, but tbh you can keep him. If Linus is not released within 48 hours on the other hand, I will be forced to free Reiser in a crazed attempt to free him, much like that general in Rambo: First Blood Part II.
But how do I know that my microwave doesn't have an RFID reader that enables it to know that there is an RFID tag inside and it only goes through the motions of microwaving my undies, thereby rendering any RFID chip(s) in my undies untouched and fully functional? Far fetched? Future microwave dinners and popcorn might have RFID tags embedded which tell various microwave oven how long to cook the product. Can I get thicker tinfoil for my hat? Simple, but some pizza in cheese and nachos in thier with your undies, if the cheese melts, the microwave worked your undies are now untaged if the cheese doesn't melt, the microwave is goverment controlled AND you dont have any cheese nachos, so you pretty fucked tbh.
Funny because i currently use ubuntu hardy, which has sprung a pretty nasty memory leak in the NetworkManager, but it doesn't affect my uptime.
anyway mr not twitter, how come you know so much about where twitter does/doesn't work? I mean I now have reason to belive he works at MS and is a disgruntled ms-sql coder, but you were months ahead of the game with that comment.
Yawn your both wankers, but atleast hes more popular than an AC trolling FP. I mean seriously its just a matter of time until GNAA post trolling links, which you reply to only to see your post downmoded before thiers
one word sockpuppet
so that's why he wasn't talking to himself in this thread! I was shocked tbh, I thought maybe all his imaginary friends had ditched him!
Many, many chkdsking years of therapy.
fixed

because nobody likes you twitter, thats why! also you simply dont understand that uptime of vista is completely irelivant
Yawn, twitter stop talking to yourself, infact just stop talking.

Funny how BSD is becoming less restrictive and GPL is becoming more so.
I realise that that is your point, but im allowed to steal it without giving credit now.
That joke is not funny. Fuck off
