    Hate to be the one to go Godwin, but that didn't work terribly well with Hitler. There are limits to diplomacy and it would be foolish to rely soley on it. Nor does the U.S. need almost half the world's defense spending, and I say that as a U.S. defense contractor.

    Lasers are for targeting incoming missiles and aircraft, which are pretty much going to be line of sight and fast moving. Seems like a good fit. Railguns are more for ship to shore targeting.

    IIRC, those are the only ones the Navy wants to arm with railguns.

    And, if you hook the same chemical reactions and transducer technology to a smartphone you can reproduce the same information generated from those chemical reactions and transducers hooked to ... wait for it... a computer.

    Smart phones are much more common than desktop computers in poorer countries. So yes, making a smaller, cheaper, reliable device for a smart phone is a big deal.

    It isn't like you can use the same smartphone dongle over and over again for very little cost.

    It isn't? Sure seems that's what they're doing, but I'd love to hear your logic as to why that's not what's happening.

    beauty and ugliness, rich and poor, black and white, these are all concepts that in technology hold no relevance or meaning because theyre metrics by which we categorize and qualify people in often arbitrary and flawed ways.

    And yet men the world over prefer women with waist/hip ratios between .68 and .71. What we consider physically attractive is directly tied to health and fitness to bear/raise children, not some arbitrary value.

    Cyanogenmod is but one alternative, one which I like and currently have (guess I neglected to mention that step). But there are dozens of other ROMs, with the source code freely available, and several of them are very good.

    Root the phone, remove Google apps, use alternative apps. Not terribly hard, and pretty much what I've done to my LG Google Nexus 5, but I choose to use a few Google apps. Why you trust Apple to track you appropriately but not Google would be a better question though.

    You premise is flawed. Not everyone can get vaccinated, due to allergies, surgeries, and other conditions. This is why vaccinations are so important: to protect those who can't get them.
