A good point, this is where I eventually arrived in my own ruminations. If I post on Facebook that I like gardening, and Facebook shows me gardening related ads, well that is their business model isn't it? It is when they use web referers off of their ubiquitous tracking bugs that I think they cross over into a bad place.
So you want to be able to give information to some other party, and then dictate what they can and cannot do with it? Isn't this what we call DRM? My point is that is it not your information any more than it would be if your neighbor observed that you like gardening.
Where does "our" data end end "theirs" begin? The question has no clear answer. If I do something in public, do I own everyone else's knowledge of what I did? Is it a violation of my privacy if someone sees me in the street and tells a friend about it?
So now an ad hominem attack along with your unsubstantiated assertion? I could Google all day and plenty of assertions. There's no evidence of intent in the design or implementation of BTC. The fact that you resort to impugning my character instead of presenting any evidence at all makes my case.
Prove it. Document one inventor or early participant who is fleecing anyone, intentionally or otherwise. I don't deny that such things happen, just like any other currency market. There is no 'intended to fleece the gullible' element in the origins or founding of BTC.
True today, this wasn't always the case. Many are not aware the the Democrats, of all people, were once the libertarian limited government party in the US. The great Grover Cleveland was one of these. It wasn't until the 20th century that they did an about face and went federal. We still call the Democratic rhetoric "liberal" thanks to this, creating confusion with the original meaning of "liberal" which is now usually called "classical liberal" to try to avoid the confusion.
So MS has 20+% of the apps that Android has, that doesn't sound horrible. How many of those Android apps are garbage? The numbers aren't the whole story, if the 200k are much better quality than most of the 1.1M the Windows phone would win. I am not saying that is the case, just saying that comparing the number of apps in a store isn't useful information.
'They smell very good and when they're cooked, many patients have described them as the most delicious mushrooms they've ever eaten
We see this all the time. Of course they are going to claim this. Who wants to say "I almost died from eating this mushroom and it tasted pretty bad."? They are trying to put a good face on it. Just like the people who drink their own urine and claim a myriad of health benefits. Who is going to admit they drank their own urine and got nothing out of it?
Interesting tidbit about breeder reactors. I did read that China is starting work on thorium salt reactors (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/ambroseevans_pritchard/9784044/China-blazes-trail-for-clean-nuclear-power-from-thorium.html), but how far does one believe their government? Excellent post though, I was under the impression that the technology was much further along.
Do you have an opinion on thorium salt reactors or other up and coming nuclear power techniques? Do they all have the same sort of problem you are talking about? I keep planning to read up on this more, seriously wondering if you've done so and formed an opinion.
Why do you say the CA system is flawed by design? Do you mean that some agency deliberately introduced the flaws? Or do you just mean that the design is flawed?
I am not at all sure that this is very likely? What would the prankster have to gain? Sure it might be possible, but possible without getting caught? Those are two different things. In defense of this I will offer an example. it is well known that the Internet could be screwed up by messing with BGP routing. Pakistan did it once and denied access to YouTube. Why haven't your pranksters brought down the Internet?

You seem to have some sort of mental problem. I extend my sympathies.

The so-called "hydrogen bomb" has been in existence for decades. This is a fusion bomb.

They quoted a spokesperson from the Ministry of Unification — a department of the South Korean government that works on unifying the two Koreas
First amazing that they even have this. Doesn't seem like they are really getting anywhere. What do they do from day to day? Call up NK and ask?
You can always tell a liar by comparing the actions to the words. Words aside, Republicans have always been the party of big centralized government.
BTC is not intended to be an investment vehicle, and anyone trying to treat it as such is playing in currency markets just like any other risk-taker.
So we win some, we lose some
A significant majority of Republicans don't believe in evolution.

How does the rise of science blogs impact the central idea of Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions?
and haven't been re-investing those profits in infrastructure in proportion.
Could you clarify this? In proportion to what?
How long until adversaries get the codes to remote destroy US military equipment while it is in use?

Doesn't' beta.slashdot.org count as something resembling administration?
Yes, these regulations are laws against fraud, false advertising, etc.
And of course I apologize for the inappropriate question mark on the first sentence.
