Can't Windows just mark all files that have been hitherto unopened as "unsafe"? That's what the Finder seems to do to me...

There is a terminal command to save to a file anywhere you define on the computer. It just makes a snapshot sound when the picture is taken.

You may discover that you can use all 5 fingers on the one button and differing numbers of fingers makes for a different button action.

And with a touchscreen, technically the whole thing is just one big-ass button.

What Apple really needs to compete in the corporate laptop market is a laptop dock. Most laptop users are sporting external monitors, mice, scanners, external storage and keyboards these days. Not having an easy way to hook and unhook all of that stuff twice a day is a deal killer.

Monitor - 5 seconds of DVI fiddling.

Keyboard, Mouse, Scanner - 2 seconds of USB use (the mouse is plugged into the keyboard, so just plug the keyboard in, a USB hub is connected into the other port on the USB 2.0 Hub-Keyboard (Apple Aluminium) which connects one Laser Printer, one Inkjet multifunction, my camera and occasionally a USB removable drive) to my MacBook Pro.

Importing my latest photos from the camera, working with them on a 30-inch monitor and printing off examples to show others - priceless.

There are some PCs that take 10 seconds to clip securely into a dock. For everything else, there's the 2-step Mac way.

Plus you don't get the ugly re-structuring of the design all around the dock adapter. Plus, all your

external monitors, mice, scanners, external storage and keyboards would take me 2 plugs on opposing sides so I can use two hands at once. How many plugs does it take for you?

Driver support? What would you need to support? If it's USB or Firewire, it probably works. I haven't installed any of the 4 printers (3 Brother, 1 Lexmark, one being a multifunction with scanner that instantly works with 'Image Capture.app') and they all work fine.

And if it's internal, what do you gain by opening the case?

As for responsiveness, More RAM = More speed. Dual Core Intel is faster than Single-Core PowerPC. Spotlight in Leopard is much more snappy than it was in Tiger (no lag in typing response due to searching). Spaces kicks ass. Spaces + Exposé kicks even more ass. iWork '08 is great for presentations, simple tables and reports (Keynote, Numbers and Pages respectively).

As arminw mentioned, I far prefer my BMW to a Hot Rod mod of a Hyundai. Theirs might go faster in a bare-bones rattle, but I have the luxury and comfort of my leather seat.

The only downside is the head of this metaphorical BMW is letting the success go to his head. Oh well.
