Any change made to a contract by one party is grounds for the other parties to void the contract with zero penalties. Regardless of what may be written in the contract concerning contract changes.
This place pisses me off sometimes. See i post here most often on entertainment industry topics. As that is the industry i work in as a rigging grip. I continually get modded down for FACTS by people looking in from the outside. Told i have no clue what i am talking about by people who again are looking in from the outside.
H'm the freedom to do whatever I want within the law. With the risk of something possibly going wrong. Or Being ruled with an iron fist. With little chance of anything going wrong. But no guarantee.
That's what gets me about most of the posts. Car and driver did a test after this happened pressing the brakes will always win. Which every driver should know brakes stop the vehicle. Turning off the engine shifting in to neutral all unnecessary.
Cars did used to be available without power steering. In fact power steering is only really needed when stopped or at low speed. A child could steer a car without power steering at anything above 20
It is a sad state of affairs when people like me who make a living off of the industry. Will only torrent airing shows. I will purchase DVD's of my favorites
This is true. I cant remember the law and am to lazy to look it up that was on the books for a while in the 80's that stated how many minutes of comercails could be in each hour. Once the law was removed/expired the time crept up to the current 16.
Even without the law the comercail time has crept up over the years.
Regardless as was stated above very few shows. In fact BG was the only show mentioned that has reedited episodes for longer run times. so my original point stands. You only get 44 minutes on 95%** of television shows.
Just FYI i don't do IT. what i do is rigging grip for concerts television film and trade shows. So i am not an outsider looking in. This topic is dead center of the industry i call home.
**wanted to put 99 here but i know more then one director has to of reedited for longer run times.
Sorry it does not work that way. Unless you have access to the cutting room floor. A show that was cut for 15 minutes of comercails does not magicly become an hour long if the comercails are removed. Most television film in north America is cut for 44 minutes.
All that drivel makes money. If you were an investor you would probably be like most and insist your invested company keep doing what continues to make but loads of cash. You know rehashing the same old crap over and over.
Those that only want the fresh new stories are welcome to only invest in the small independent stuff. You know the films that are about as likely to make money as winning the lottery. Oh sure we have several independent films that become blockbusters each year. Out of how many independent films made each year.
The Academy has stated repeatedly that it does not consider Sci-Fi to be real work. That Sci-Fi is for children and being for children is not worth giving the top awards too.
Contract law states otherwise.

Sudo make me a fucking sandwich..
The bands don't get charged the venues do. Any venues that have live performances get stung with the charge.

Nothing like getting modded down for a FACT for the industry i work in by people who only are looking in from the outside

Only us lazy Americans have few manuals left. Many other countries still prefer them.

That reminds me of the Clinton BJ. We were all up in arms over here in the states. Yet my European friends were like what's the problem.
now I know why my scanner app alerted me to 2700 listeners in Virginia beach yesterday.

Well at least MS denies it. Apple just covers it up.

Directors work hard to film as close to 44 minutes as possible. That is way you get so little in added footage on DVD's.

DVDs do not count, the director can do whatever they want with DVD's with almost zero opposition.

Nope. i heard it from j michael straczynski. Which means its not true In your eyes.
If you say so, I am a Rigging Grip. My experience does not jive with your experience.
Indie is lucky if it pays off.

Sure do, TFA even says so.
I stand corrected. I don't have a version anymore.
My memory kind of gets fucked up when recalling things i read almost three decades ago
