Damn OSHA. We have so many problems with OSHA. Many of the buildings in my industry have standing orders that whenever OSHA shows up. They are to be stopped at the door until a manager can escort them where they want to go. In that time all work in the building ceases until OSHA has left. Years ago we had some new OSHA inspector tell us we had to put a safety rail on the front of a stage. WTF. suffice to say after we continually said no. Said inspector said if he had to call his supervisor we would be shutdown. Call your damn supervisor you idiot. In the end no rail and we got to teach an OSHA noob he was not god.

In the recording industry, not so much. The labels don't pay for anything. They give the artists a "loan" which consists of all of which you mentioned and more. Which the artist have to pay back. On top of that the labels get a majority percentage of each sale. So the labels put out none of there own money. Being a label is pure profit.

That, but also something i remember from my CB days and now ham days. Device manufactures did not (still don't) consider it worth the expense to put better filtering in electronics. Because they knew interference was rare. Unless you lived near an interstate. They also knew the customers had to deal with that little stamp on the back of nearly every device that states you must except interference even interference that causes undesirable operation. They had a get out of jail free card. So it was up to the end user to provide better filtering. Gawd knows i had a neighbor or two who did not have cable. Confronting me about the interference i was causing when at higher power levels. That stamp gave me a get out of jail free card as well. Manufacturers are just used to putting the minimal amount of filtering in. If you have problems to bad. If the problems get worse maybe they will reconsider. I won't hold my breath though.
