But I guess the families have a right to know why the teacher is leaving/quote>
If there's no reason to suspect that any children were harmed, then no; I'd say it's none of their business (OMG, I can't believe I just defended the Catholic Church - the Black Pope would no doubt be amused...).
Good luck getting ethics board approval for infecting a bunch of East African to see what happens.
Whatever you say, dude! As if the kind of people (eugenicists and their NWO ilk) capable of pulling such an atrocious stunt - as they've consistently shown themselves - would run it by an ethics board first. ROFL!
...in a weak, starving host living in awful non hygienic circumstances. This is a testable hypothesis but hopefully no one is ever going to do that experiment.
Your average under-nourished (however greatly overfed) Westerner, complete with their wiped-out intestinal flora (antibiotic, anyone?) and constantly-sterilized environment (care for some hand sanitizer? How about a blast or two from that automatic disinfecting aerosol air-freshener), would seem like the perfect candidate to recreate these conditions: devastating plague, here we come - and be sure to hold the raw garlic (it could greatly skew the results, to say the least)...
Since when does the government have the authority to conduct secret searches, siezures, and investigations of private citizens without disclosure of an offical charge?
So, to summarize: he has proven himself to be honest, he has been dedicated to changing government in a good way, even when that view was unpopular, and he is popular. What more do you want?
Let's just say - for the sake of argument - he becomes president (rigged voting machines notwithstanding). What I would want would be to see him stay alive long enough to steer things back in the right direction - which I very much doubt would happen (it obviously isn't a coincidence that the last year our coins were silver was the same year the 'powers that be' took out Kennedy).
Wikipedia got it wrong: art should stimulate (and not even necessarily positively) the senses and thereby (hopefully) evoke an emotional or intellectual response. Yes, technically, this means one of my farts would better qualify as art than the "work" in question. A mere juxtaposition of objects, however surreal, no matter how poignant the point is that's being made... shouldn't be declared art. When it is, there's an obvious stink of desperation (lack of talent, perhaps?)...
Considering the well-known lengths the establishment (US gov't, Nipponese gov't, "state-run" mainstream media) has gone to to hush this whole thing up (shutting down and doctoring the output of rad detectors all over the country for one, though that's just the beginning of a long list), I suppose "tone" of this discussion will be a good indicator of how much Slashdot has succumbed to the legions of Army/NSA trolls sitting in their cubicles at Fort Meade... (^5's, boys!)
I guess being prepared isn't just for boy scouts anymore; now it's a apparently a sign of mental illness...? Seriously, I agree that the whole "2012 thing" is a sign of serious gullibility on the part of your father but your disdain for his wanting to be prepared is a serious sign of your own. Perhaps you might benefit from turning off the state-run TV (it is, you know, beneath the surface), read (and perhaps even understand!) some history (Weimar Germany in '23, Argentina in '89) and learn to think for yourself a bit. Being smart enough to have a year's worth of food on hand paints anyone in a negative light, unless you've been thoroughly indoctrinated and/or are a complete retard...
I'll say it again (for the thousandth time - and this is entirely subjective but it's still true): THIS ISN'T FUCKING ART!!! What it is, however, is a coherent political statement that actually says something (unlike the proverbial paint thrown on the wall, feces on a Ritz cracker, etc, etc). Imagine that...
Yes and if you go far enough back liberal means modern-day libertarian.
You've got it backwards. The terms refer to a conservative interpretation of the Constitution regarding the powers it grants to the government (i.e. a classic Jeffersonian/libertarian interpretation) vs. a liberal interpretation, espoused by classic Hamiltonian Federalism...
Life being as cheap as it seems to be over there, perhaps it's no wonder they neglected to mention 'the midget Chinaman' peering out from behind the grill...:p
Does their study take into account the recent observation that us northern people are more likely to have Neanderthal DNA and that that could at least be part of the reason for larger brains?
A blanket statement indeed, nonetheless one born of history...
In the UK the National Health Service is a massive government run institution and despite its problems is still many times better than what private healthcare in the US can deliver.
Talk about framing the debate! It's hardly as if those two steaming piles of shit should be our only choices!
Filing a patent requires a lot of expensive lawyer time; a company like Apple typically will not file one that it cannot defend.
I'm not sure that's entirely accurate; if it was, this would be a rather simple issue and there'd be little room for debate... and we probably wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.:p
They always tell me before the rise of civilization that human teeth were perfectly fine. That natural sweets like fruit fibers forced the sugar away before any real damage was done. That white flour and white sugar, removed from it's natural fibers do all the damage. And I know that is true to some extent, but I really don't think before that crap came that everyone was running around with perfect teeth.
So, was Oetzi from a civilization with all that bad stuff in that sense, since he's way younger than 10,000 years old? Or do human teeth really just suck that much? (FWIW, I wish all our teeth were like baby teeth, constantly displaced and renewed every 5-7 years).
It's probably quite simple, actually. Indigenous people around the planet often have perfect teeth when Western explorers first enounter them but there are at least two exceptions to this: the Incas, who tended to have horrible teeth (due to the fact that they ate cooked corn containing carbs which, as any diabetic should be able to tell you, affect the body the way sugar does) and certain islanders from the West Indies, who chewed/sucked raw sugar cane (not a great idea, the toxicity of refined sugar not withstanding.
However, "Oetzi" probably wasn't eating the perfect diet of "fruits, roots, shoots, berries, seeds and bugs" but rather a diet consisting primarily of animal products, which as has been fairly well demonstrated, is great for folks who want to survive Ice Age-type conditions as a race but doesn't do a whole lot for the health and lifespan of individual members.
Oil is only going for $100/barell because demand roughly matches supply. If supply exceeds demand by a significant percentage, we'd be back to $1/gallon gas in a heartbeat.
All perfectly true and reasonable in theory but your assessment and prediction don't take price-fixing into account. The fact is, in the event of a reduction in demand, supply can - and will - be restricted, inducing "artificial scarcity." Hell, it could be argued that price per gallon would go up even higher, since suppliers will want to ensure cash flow...

Seriously, drink your kool-aid (ahem... flouridated tap water) and be sure not to visit this page.
Go on, take the blue pill; trust me, it's a lot less disturbing...

Since our very own Reichstag fire...

Pardon me; that should have read "Being smart enough to have a year's worth of food on hand HARDLY paints anyone in a negative light"
Who's the retard, huh? :p ;)

That would be because "winning the war against piracy" isn't the end, it's the means...

large government = evil!
Such a blanket statement is nonsense.

15 years ago, 'typical users' didn't know how to use napster
I should think not, since Napster didn't exist until 1999.
Doesn't that make it even less likely that they knew how to use it? :p

You know what F.I.A.T. stands for, right? "Fix it again, Tony!"
This is sure to make their CIA handlers' day. :p
DIY electronic toilet paper, here we come!
