The question was about better ways to communicate with the patient, not "should we let her live or die?" I understand it to say that the decision to live has already been answered. She just needs a better way to communicate.
At the time there were limited arms (you took about 2 minutes to reload) vs able to empty a couple clips in that same amount of time, now.
There were also limited religions and limited forms of speach and press at the time too. Should the first amentment only allow freedom of religion for the religions that existed when it was written, or only apply to actual speach and hand written docuements? And I guess it should only apply to newspapers and town cryers, because TV, radio, and the internet did not exist when the bill of rights were originally written.
Also, the regular people had more advanced wepons than the army did because rifles were not supplied to the troops, they only had muskets.
the point of the constitution is to address issues in fairness. Doesn't deal with everything, but it's the core basic point of the document.
The constitution has nothing to do with "fairness" it is about limitations on the federal government and the absolute rights of the people. The founding of the US was not about fairness but freedom. What we have today is the idea of fairness and that is why our society is messed up and why we alow our government to rape us with high taxes and expect the government to fullfill all our needs.
Government mostly got out of the way and let it happen. When this place called The United States of America is alowed to run unrestrianed amazing things happen and most always for the best. Get the best a brightest and let them do their thing but don't tie their hands. That is the way our federal government is support to work, be there to support not to dictate, protect, not overpower. Set a goal for the nation and then watch it happen, force an idea on this nation and watch it become so mired in so much red tape it will never function correctly.
What is the carbon foot print of these co2 lasers? How much carbon is used to process the paper sticker compared to the laser etching?:) Not that I care, but this will be raised by the climate change folks.
What I am saying is that if we were able to destroy our species then we would have died out a long time ago. This whole climate thing is just a scheme to put money on peoples pockets and scare others into paying out the money. When we purposely try to change the climate we are going to screw up things more than all of the indirect so called human changes have done. I for one don't want anyone dumping stuff into the atmosphere for any reason, that can't be a good idea. Maybe the oceans need a good dose of alka-seltzer to neutralize the acid. That make as much sense as blowing dirt into the atmosphere. All these fixes could cause real problems. By the way, if the human species dies out isn't that just natural selection? Why worry it may just be time for the lizard men to show up and take over an over baked earth.
I think if we just leave it all alone it will take care of itself. All this science is just a best guess anyways. If mankind is able to destroy the world it would have died a long time ago. It seems the more we try to fix things the worse they get. Give the environment some credit and let it fix itself.
I live in rural Texas just south of Houston. I have had my WISP service for a year and a half now. Before that my only option was an aircard. We home school our kids and I have a 10 machine network. This WISP service has been far more than adequate for my needs. I get a real 3 meg down and a full 1 meg up. The price is 45.95/month. On most weekends my 4 boys and I, that makes 5 people, play medal of honor on line and never have an issue with speed and there is no lag or issue associated with our connection. It works in any weather and I have never experienced an outage. Following hurricane IKE we were with out power for 18 hours, one of the lucky ones, and when the power came back on the internet was still working. We were in the eye wall of IKE for the duration of the storm as well. I am only 22 miles from Galveston. I am sold on my WISP service.
Why not just get an aircard? You can get wireless EVDO routers like this one from keyocera. http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/264/63/
Or even get a pci to pcmcia adapter, this will allow you to use one in your PC. They sell them at newegg for under $20.00. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124021Y
I used a Verizon air card for over a year and ran a 5 computer network off it. I had to use an external antenna as I had no signal with my pc on the floor in the corner of my room.It was made by Wilson they call it their "Trucker Cellular Antenna" http://www.wpsantennas.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3 It cost me 100 bucks but was well worth the investment. It wasn't cable but it sure beat dial-up. I now have a wireless setup that uses Motorola Canopy technology that rocks!!!
I belong to another discussion group who says that antartica is a govt conspiracy and does not exist. I am not one of the disbelievers however. I posted links to three articles about this to the board and also this discussion.
