It seems that much of the technology news lately has been about engineers/chemists/etc working with nearly a single atom. How far off does everyone think we'll have a storage device where we can store 1 bit per atom. I'm assuming that this material would have to very pure. Will we ever be able to use any substance? This would be a perfect use for all of those pizza crusts laying around. Just pop'em into Mr. Storage and instantly you have 500 extra Tb laying for the prOn collection.

How do the people feel about this? Do most of them even care? Would this money be better spent on education? I don't like the idea of having many computers in the classroom as we have in the US. My little sister learned to add on a calculator. I think we need to go back to the basics. Getting everyone online is a better idea than what china is doing, but I think we should be somewhere in the middle.

Can we set up anonymous proxies for them? There has been than dang /. banner about "Protecting the privacy of your users". Any idea know how to implement this on a large scale. (And probably low budget) Are there any organizations working on this? What about wireless? During wartime, we love dropping leaflets/flyers. Any modern day equivalent? I doubt the casual end users will be able to purchase a DirecPC style system. (Even if Hughes coverred that area) Are there any underground clandestine pipes/routers in China? Freenet or the like available?
