Sucks even more that they refuse to deploy firefox as a normal windows.msi installer.
True. I use FrontMotion's Firefox Community Edition that comes packaged as a MSI installer. We customize it and push it out with Active Directory. It's not perfect, but it works.
This is an odd ruling. Where does it state in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Amendments, or any other federal documents that the federal government has sole authority over environmental protection? Surely this can't be considered interstate commerce since we're talking about individual states.
I'm not a believer of man made global warming so I have mixed emotions on this. States should be able to set stricter laws and regulations on activities within their border as they see fit. It shouldn't matter if it is the environment or immigration. We already have this with road use regulations, health care, etc.
The United States is not a country of the masses. It is an alliance of individual states. It is sad that most people (especially the federal government) forget this.
Apple is not SELLING a competing product. Wireless sync comes with the (free) OS. If they charged for the wireless sync, this might be remotely like the Microsoft case.
The OS is free? Where can I get it? What? I can't? I have to buy something to get it? That doesn't sound free to me.
And by the way - wireless sync is not part of any released iOS version to date.
"Buy a computer where all your software is pre-screened through our App Store and you don't have to worry about viruses" is a powerful (and potentially very profitable) message in a time when malware and assorted hacks have become so common.
I would say that this is a reason to be even more suspicious of a closed platform. Because it is "locked down" by Apple's standards I'll never be able to determine the security of the device. I have to take Apple at their word that the device is secure.
Until, of course, someone sneaks malicious code in Apple's store without Apple's knowledge.
It has nothing to do with Obama (and I'm a conservative). The US government will continue to strip away civil liberties regardless of who is in power. The US government is bigger than the office of the President.

I think there's another math class that's even more important and should be required by all 50 states: Personal Finance class. In this day and age everyone should know how to take care of their personal finances including loans, investments, purchases, etc.
Agreed. I bought more music because I was able to "sample" free downloads. If I didn't like it, I deleted it. If I liked it, I deleted it, bought the album and ripped it to my favorite format.
As far as I can tell, TFAs are about the SECOND blast, which happened on reactor 3 of the plant. NHK has nothing about a third blast. Am I missing something? Was there a third explosion, on reactor 2?
Correct. The title is completely wrong. I hope it is updated soon.
This will disrupt other devices too. For example, my Hammond tone wheel organ will go out of tune if it isn't fed 60Hz.
I HATE ads. HATE.
Cable companies offer DVR's for an extra $5 to $10 a month, which seems equivalent to paying for TV without ads.
I would agree, except that the the DVR menus commonly have advertisements in them. So in reality you're still paying to receive advertisements.

I really don't want to have to push out a brand new version of FF every few months and risk breaking my users' plugins that they use.
Palin & Bush were in the legislature? Wow! I did not know that.
Methinks you're trying too hard. It's almost like you're trying to rewrite history....like Palin.

I would bet a very large amount of money that Germany has not shut down their nuclear power by 2022.
These plants are already built and relatively cheap to maintain versus the cost of building all new alternative energy plants.
Just my $.02

Affiliation =/= representation
Sure it is. You're always expected to act responsibly regardless of the organization that you're representing.
I've had my HP Laserjet 1200 for 9 years now and it's using the original toner cartridge. During that time I have purchased 3 digital cameras.

VA Linux IPO'd in December 2010 with an opening price of $30. That price skyrocketed to over $300 during the day and closed at $240.

I have contacted both of my senators and my representative. I urge all other US citizens to do the same.
Jebus, people. Ethernet is a layer 2 OSI technology and has nothing to do with the physical layer. Wireless uses Ethernet too.

Good point. But wouldn't the ISP need proof that others are accessing your wireless connection before they cut you off?
