No, we're a mac household. Only two x86 boxes, one runs linux, the other is owned by my employer (and a source of constant frustration).

Ordered it, then discovered the lead time changed to 3-4weeks from 2-3. That was a month ago, today I checked the status, its been pushed back another 3 weeks.
Note to self: Never order stuff from apple right after it was just released.
Actually, when you sign up for the service, you have to sign a nice piece of paper saying that card belongs to DirecTV. So, no, they didn't destroy personal property, the destroyed their own.
Well, IBM didn't invent it. But they did buy it from Carengie Mellon a very long time ago. Then they began using it as the OS to develop MVS (and others) on top of. And then eventually sold it to other people.
I don't know if IBM bought the patent rights, or just licensed. But I do know that the patents should have expired by now.
Well, Sledgehammer sure as hell beats "Willamette" right? And it kind of fits in with the Thunderbird, Spitfire naming scheme (yes, one was a car, the other was a nice airplane, but they SOUND cool).
And Chevy has a long history of naming they're cars weird things. Like the Nova that didn't sell very well in Mexico. ("no va" in spanish means, literally, "no go").
This fall we'll have SMP Athlons. We're waiting for AMD's 760MP chipset... Supposed to do SMP and DDR SDRAM.
I just wish they'd kick me down a few engineering test samples.

last time i tried that in windoze it didn't work.
course it has been awhile, I try to stay away from windows as much as possible. I don't want anyone at work finding out I can do windows as well as UNIX, I'd be in a world of hurt then.
the obligatory macross stuff. My favorite is Macross II. Too bad Macross isn't available on dvd yet.
Ghost in the Shell (Ghost in the/bin/sh as a friend of mine calls it) is also pretty badass. The story is a bit whacko, and its a little out there, but the animation is superb, and the plot is ultimately really cool.
You forget a few things man. The "milita" is every able bodied citizen between the ages of 17 and 45. Also, the 2nd amendment exists not to protect my right to own a nice little deer rifle to hunt with. It was intended to protect mine (and your) right to own the same weapons that our army used. Read Sanford Levinson's _The Embarassing 2nd Amendment_ for more info on how it protects the right to own military stuff.
To paraphrase one of America's founding fathers (I think it was Ben Franklin), "People who willingly trade freedom for security deserve neither."
Also, you have to remember that in this country, the police have abolsolutely no mandate to protect you, the lawful citizen. The courts have upheld this many a time. The police exist to enforce law an order (see the Enforcers from Snowcrash) and not to protect your life, liberty , or happiness. Thats YOUR job.

Me too. Started 2.5 weeks ago doing websphere stuff. Also on AIX, not linux. But I'm not picky. The last gig sucked.
Of course, I'm a contractor. But whatever.
over 60k? Funny, I paid $48.5 for my Z06.
You can pick up an 01 for mid 30s easy right now.
I loved it. You smoke crack.
At least that I've seen in the change logs, ugh. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THIS - LINUX IS UNUSABLE ON MY SYSTEM UNTIL THIS IS FIXED

yes, there is something very useful about this...
you'll be able to ssh into the router.
Of course I remember something about Cisco starting to bundle ssh into IOS, but I don't know if its there yet.

wow, your sig is the quote i was trying to remember in a response to an earlier quote. Too bad I paraphrased it and butchered it all to hell.

I'm pulling about 80 hours per week right now. Hopefully it'll drop back to a manageable 50 or so.
At least I'm paid hourly.
