    I tell you what, if the entitlement crowd, a group of people distinguished by the fact that they refuse to do any work but want rewards anyway, manages to get up off their asses and actually start a revolution, I'll join in sheer amazement. I suspect, however, that it might be a little too difficult and you'll all just call for the rest of us to do it for you while you try to benefit for free.

    It has a simple syntax, supports a number of paradigms, and practically everyone has an interpreter for it already installed. It also has a simple, robust UI framework in that interpreter.

    You have anything to prove that innovation is crippled? New stuff comes out so regularly we're practically numb to advances now. Innovation seems to be moving along at a pretty decent clip. Taking away the patent system MAY increase that innovation, but there isn't a single scrap of evidence that points in that direction.

    Actual Slashdot responses in the related article generally centered around the idea that this demonstrates that the police need tighter controls to ensure they don't abuse their powers, and that recording the police doing their job is a sign of a healthy society where the government isn't afraid of the scrutiny of the people who consent to be governed.

    Who said I was poopooing the estimates? I could give some, I've designed and built much more complicated systems, but that's not the point. I was addressing the OP's propensity for dismissing the parts he didn't know how to do as easy. That's a foolish attitude, and insidious if allowed unchecked.

    I'm helping. In a mean way, so it sticks. I'm a pro, you might want to learn something here.

    Did someone make them have a giant family and own lots of things? "I'm greedy, so I need to be more greedy to continue to support my initial greed" is a poor argument. It all comes back around to consuming too much, so you can't justify higher consumption by saying "I need it to support my consumption."
