    You may have forgotten, in your rush to insult, that by and large people don't care about things that have no effect on them. The majority of Apple customers aren't hurt by this and therefore have no reason to care. Your argument works for that small percentage of people who scream about software freedom, and of course that opinion gets modded up here so you feel like it's common - but in the real world, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

    Violating these religious restrictions would have been a really bad idea 2000 years ago.

    Could you explain the scientific reasons for not mixing meat and dairy? Once you've done that, could you explain why fish and dairy together are okay, once again within the scientific context? Then for a follow up, explain the scientific basis for the requirement that meat and dairy need totally separate cookware and utensils.

    The main reason IE needs that is because it is so integrated into the O.S.

    Are we back to the 1990s belief that IE somehow runs "in the kernel?" Can you Microsoft bashers at least get up to date on this stuff please? IE is no more "integrated into the OS" than any other application that uses a system library.

    Run the client in a chroot, run it as a different user with limited privileges, turn off the execute flag in the user's home directory

    Either your definition of trivial is somewhat different than the one I read in the dictionary, or you're operating under the belief that every user is going to somehow become a competent admin just by virtue of running a Linux system.

    Technology is not a zero sum game. The existence of Indian programmers does not prevent good programmers in any other country from getting work. Good is the key. Improve your game, it's a better tactic than racism.
