    "Losers weepers; finders keepers." "Posession is nine-tenths of the laws," and so on. Balls thrown into my yard become my property - same applies with GPS devices found in my driveway.

    The FBI would simply have to follow "the due process of law" if they wanted their discarded item back. I'm sure that would be most embarassing and reveal things they'd rather not reveal, but then I guess they shouldn't have left the GPS in my yard.

    Google's HTML5 demo site (from last summer) was no different. I tried multiple browsers, even Chrome, and it still kept telling me to upgrade.

    I'm one of those who doesn't do updates. Mainly because I've read too many horror stories of updates making computers unbootable, or breaking the software, or whatever.

    Instead I wait a month-or-so until I'm sure there's no negative outcomes being reported by the press.

    You're too lazy to bother taking five minutes to understand what you're reading, or to put it into any sort of context. Which also explains why you keep making so many factually incorrect statements (about the law, banking, retailing, etc) that you could simply look up and accurately understand if you were so busy watching sitting on the couch watching ripped off entertainment and lamely trying to excuse it away by pretending that you, and only you, have good taste. You might be surprised at how transparent you are, seen from outside of your mom's basement. Maybe if you asked her for a bigger allowance, you could actually pay for some of what you're desparately trying to come up with ways to justify rippipng off.

    You're just making the mistake of assuming that you're smarter than you actually are, and that we aren't on to you. Which is typical of kids like you. You'll grow out of it.

    but "restraint" certainly has a lot to do with it. I don't see the need to spend ~$600/year for an internet-capable smartphone when my "dumb" phone can be had for $0.00 a year. (I only get billed when I use it - which is rare.)

    Similarly I don't have cable TV. I used to when it was a decent price ($400/year) and Sci-Fi actually played sci-fi, but since the price skyrocketed to $900..... forget it. I put-up an antenna and now get 40+ channels for free.

    Why don'y you SHUT UP freakin' troll? I'm tired of hearing about how CheapAss you are with your $0.00/month bills. If you're dso damn poor go get a job you ,lazy SOB!

    Also the kids in my family don't have their consoles connected online, so that means we'd all have games that refuse to play because they cannot "phone home" to the Game manufacturer's website.

    Ditto with My kids.
    They don't have internet-connected consoles, so how are they supposed to play Capcom games? I guess Capcom lost several million customers with this decision.

    Problem solved. The marijuana/cocaine/etc ban makes it illegal to imbibe these substances. So let's just do the same with alcohol, and all our problems will disappear. No more drunks == no more drunk driving.

    I'm being sarcastic.

    I certainly hope so. People should be able to put anything they want into their bodies, upto and including cyanide. Else they are not truly free.

    Deal with the abuse of the drugs (DUI) not the banning of them, or alcohol.

    Are the Chinese even allowed to dial outside their own country? Also I imagine the 15,000 mile distance would really create a lot of noise on the line. They'd be lucky if they got even 9600 bits per second. (Which means pages would take 5 times longer to load versus a full 50 kbit/s connection.)

    Trivia:

    China's average internet speed is 3900 kbit/s. For comparison the EU and US average ~10,000 kbit/s.

    You need to eliminate the 5-minute backup at the toll booth, and thereby save yourself ~2000 hours over a lifetime. You don't need the human face, just as you don't need an operator asking, "Number please?" on the telephone.

    Wow that is a bargain. Over 90% off the kindle price. If you read $1000 worth of books each year, you'll save over $900 buying used instead, and then selling it back via amazon's marketplace.

    Mozilla is a Corporation. Look it up. There's the non-profit foundation, and then there's the corporation that does the actual work of making the Gecko engine for Netscape, Firefox, and Seamonkey browsers. So to recount:

    1 - Apple/Google's Webkit
    2 - Mozilla Corporation (gecko)
    3 - Microsoft Corporation (trident)
    4 - Opera (presto)
    5 - random other engines I've overlooked like Amiga's WebBrowse, Lynx, and so on

    Our college professors don't have Bachelors degrees in Education, but they are some of the best teachers in the world. Foreigners flock to the US just to attend our colleges and universities.

    In other words: I don't buy the argument you need an Education degree.
