    I see many here quoting the Koran.
    Thing is, just like with most Christians, Muslims don't have the faintest clue of what their Holy Book prescribe, and when they do they just "interpret" it in whatever way fits the social context they where born in.

    Now, don't get me wrong. Nutty aggressive foaming violent morons ARE a problem, and I do want to see less religion and more education in the world.

    But I do have Muslim friends, I had Muslim girlfriends and they have nothing to do with what you see on the TV.
    Many, many Muslims are secular, drink alcohol, fuck liberally and don't wear any headscarf and in general adhere to their religion just as our local Christians do.

    Violence and fundamentalism are bred by lack of education, the specific flavor of religion is not that relevant.

    Turkey tried badly to separate religion from politics, and it was one one the most secular Islamic country.
    It appears that they are failing.

    Women in Istanbul are taking back the veil as sign of political support to the conservative party.

    I am a "vegetarian" and I'd have no problems with it, because, as you point, it wouldn't change the slightest my impact on the environment.
    Many lazy vegetarians like me just don't buy meat, but have no problems eating it if they are offered or in general does not support the industry.
    Others eat meat only once per month so that they can spend into quality, sustainable stuff and enjoy it more.

    Where are those who need their guns to rise in arms against a tyrannical government?

    I don't really understand two things of the US:

    1) The obsession with the Founding Fathers.
    Can't you just decide what is best for you NOW without trying to interpret their words as if it was the Bible?

    2) The obsession for violent ousting of a tyrant.
    You like guns, you want guns, you know... it's ok.
    But don't go around telling bullshit about rising in arms against a tyrannical government.
    Your President can order arrest, torture and assassination of any US citizens.
    What about the Patriot Act?
    What about all the propaganda, all the lies?
    They just scream "Terror! Think of the children! Jump!" and you ask "How high?"
    Your gun in hand, you are just waiting for your dear government to tell you where to shoot.
    Do you really, seriously think that the government is afraid of your guns?
    So stop deceiving yourself, the time to rise in arms is passed, you don't give a shit about freedom, you just want the guns and possibly someone to shoot.

    One thing is free speech, one thing is disruption.
    As a rabid atheist, I wouldn't go in a church and scream that they believe bullshit.
    This has nothing to do with free speech.

    There should be some protection for those who want to mourn their dead.
    If the law does not provide, the citizens usually must take initiative, forcing the law to follow.
