... Yes, and because OSX is so inferior to windows, it is clear that usability comes at the cost of dumbing it down.
Honestly, I would argue that OSX is better than windows, since it has better memory management and process control. Sure, apple is 'evil' and doesn't give people free reign to tinker with their system - but OSX isn't any less powerful/dumbed down because it is easy to use.
I thought the idea of Ubuntu was to get linux adoption up - and by getting rid of Firefox, it'll just be more difficult to get people to migrate... Besides, displaying a EULA is common practice - maybe just have a big, blanket EULA when installing ubuntu - which covers all software included..
SoTN had some ultra-rare items that almost never dropped. So if you got one, you were blown away - and you would play the game over and over again to see what ultra rare you would get on the next playthrough.

Exactly. If every manager knew exactly how to do the job of every manager/worker below him/her, then we'd have no managers. So... we make due with MBA grads.
Hey, some of us are only alive because of the tidbits of delicious apple news that occasionally escape the compound - if we didn't have rumours and rumours about rumours upon which to ruminate, then what would we talk about between ipod release announcements?
How else do you expect me to survive the 6 months between their planned obsolescence announcements? I can only refresh apple.com so many times a day on my iPhone before I max out my data plan... Do you think I'm made of money?
Damn youm Nerdfest - You stole my blog post from Sept. 14th, 1:18am... 1990 - shortly after the release of Windows 3.0!!!
I'm not an Microsoft fan because of their tendency to use proprietary standards, etc, but I can appreciate that they build a good user experience for people that are perhaps not as technically inclined. But I think it's definitely moving towards the point where you (as TFA says) are embarrassed to be a Microsoft fan. This sort of action is just petty.

If you're wasting time at work, it shows - and your co-workers will rat you out. Unless you work at a huge company where no one cares, that is. Every small-to-medium sized business I've been at has only kept the people on board it could afford - and if you were wasting space, then your co-workers had to pick up the slack.
Short answer, yes. Also, Does everyone just Exploit Africa? is a valid question as well. Yes, there is relief work and development going on... but not at the rate that goes on anywhere else.
I would have thought that someone old enough to have a 6 digit ID (Fulcrum of Evil) would be old enough to understand that only 1/3rd (if that!) of the world actually has the benefits of fulfilling their basic needs... Even the homeless in north america have it pretty good, compared to africa, china or many parts of russia.
Don't lawmakers and the courts usually love precedent?
Only if it doesn't appear that you are a terrorist threat. Or trying to defraud the studios protected by the RIAA/MPAA. Or trying to voice an opinion that is contrary to the 'norm'.
eh, probably not. I'd be checking the average usage. Sure, you'd bump it up a little. So would the grow labs in the neighbourhood. That is okay though, if you really use that much more, then you're an exception.
I never said cheaper should have more weight than secure. But, if you havn't noticed, people prefer to save money. Corporations prefer to make money. Stockholders perfer to have increases in their investments. So, even though I agree with you - all signs point to 'cheaper' winning out over 'better'.
As for my opinion of critical? Well, if I owned a large, multi million dollar company, then I would consider anything that had a major impact in my ability to make money AS CRITICAL.
To be even more callous, if you can't pay for your mortgage, and I have no debt, then your inability to make payments are a critical issue to you - but I couldn't care less.
Critical systems are defined by those who rely on them - therefore, the definition of critical is largely subjective. As for my 'reasons', well - they're not just MY reasons, they're almost universal. You might be the exception - but if everyone was like you, then there wouldn't be wal-marts...
You'd either be passed out from sheer exhaustion, or working furiously away lest your employer get the idea he could get slightly more production at less cost from some desperate member of the surplus population.
or you'd be insanely rich because you're making money off the backs of other people.
fyi, us canadians have a much lower gun+murder rate than you americans. And the biggest difference between us (besides gun control laws) is the fact that everyone knows that 90% of our movies suck.

That actually makes sense- its really just a check to ensure calculations are accurate.
You say "Not Patent Worthy". I agree.
I say "Just put a freakin' label on the box saying 'may not work correctly if not used correctly'".
True. They're trying to own your sole.
If someone OWNS an object they can do whatever they want to with it. Play in your own box and leave others alone.
Ah, but if they get their way, you won't own anything anymore, you'll just license it... including your hardware.

You know what they say, possession is 9/10ths of the law.
Other than convenience, are there real reasons to use/trust cloud computing -- that is, to trust offsite storage with critical information?
Everything that isn't a basic need (food, sleep, shelter) is a convenience, basically.
The point is that having a gun doesn't deter crime, it causes it.
lmao ;)
If you hook up a device to the internet, you deserve what you get.
Yes, and if you walk to the supermarket, and get shot/run over/hit by a truck on the way ... well, you deserve what you get. No matter what... right?
Yeah, I'd throw your curve off on that one.

the 2nd amendment uses the term "arms" which is more general than "firearms."
Dynamite. If not dynamite (because it is a construction utility) then grenades.
