    Gibbertbot offers OTR XMPP chat for Android, as does ChatSecure for iOS. The DuckDuckGo app for Androind/iOS offers untracked search over HTTPS. There are a number of PGP/GPG email readers/writers for Android and iOS.

    All of this can be precluded by the NSA having a backdoor at the graces of the manufacturer, but we still don't know the extent of that. The article states that their iPhone surveillance required them to hack into the host iTunes computer, which can be prevented with a good firewall.

    The Buzzfeed author interviewed me, then redacted all her questions. I don' know why she did it this way, but she did.     My intent was to express that the nature of the customer's business was beyond any suspicion warranting surveillance under an act that is supposed to protect us from foreign terrorism. Maybe it was just an elaborate front, but I tend to believe it is more incompetence than conspiracy.

    Looks like the article has just been demoted to "Games". Seriously though, this is just the most recent in a long line of emulator ports to the Wii. The chaps banging Linux onto the Wii are doing a lot more interesting work.

    Have your ISP contact Akamai. As an ISP who was also misidentified as "being outside of the USA" by Akamai's geolocation, our customers suffered from the exact same kinds of problems with region protection on network streaming. We didn't get it resolved until we were able to shake the tree properly at Akamai.

    AFAIK, Akamai has the most utilized geolocation service out there.

    So the Senate has no accountability to the people who elected them? They can work wholely for wealthy interests that financed their races and buy them trips while ignoring their constituents? Sorry, I'm not interested in that. They're all accountable to the electorate. I want to know how this candidate plans to insure that.

    I didn't see any mention of photo captchas like KittenAuth in the comments here. Considering how much money has been spent on trying to recognize an image of a tank and it is still lousy, it would seem to me that this would be much more secure (and easier for a broad base of people) than text captchas.

    That is a great definition you referenced, but it says nothing about what the estimated EROEI is of nuclear power vs. other methods. The study I have seen regarding EROEI on nuclear has been criticized for being extremely shallow and not taking into account clean-up of mining methods and required government protection of plants. If it isn't funny anymore, how about presenting an independent study not done by energy-firm paid researchers?

    Mining, refining, storing, protecting, and cleaning up (when it actually happens) takes a lot more hydrocarbons than a comparable solar plant, and probably uses more energy from oil than we get out of the uranium. Not to mention that no workers are at risk for higher cancer rates in mining the sun. Show me a nuclear plant and I'll show you a private company getting a government subsidy to make a profit.

    Your "feasibility" statement about solar flies in the face of what the TFA says.

    Remember the radon scare? Now just imagine going to work every day where there is a lot of radon present and your boss doesn't give you an air-tank to avoid it.

    As far as cleanup, take a gander at the Moab tailings pile left behind from the last time someone made a buck off "cheap, clean nuclear power".

    How much oil does it take to mine and refine uranium? How many pounds of rock do you have to move to extract an ounce of uranium? How much oil does it take to store your processed waste?

    Where do you think uranium comes from? Bubble-gum machines? Plenty of uranium miners have contracted cancer, and you must realize that doesn't always end happily.

    Does Greenpeace realize that uranium fuel rods aren't magically delivered to nuclear plants? Have they done any calculations on how much oil is used in extraction, refining, and clean-up of the mess? Private industry walked away from their responsibility in Moab, Utah and I can tell you that is going to take a hell of a lot of oil to clean up those tailings they left behind.

    So you just * your hosts.allow and let anyone connect to your ssh port? You don't use an IP based firewall because your private keys are sufficient? Interesting strategy.

    If all IP firewalls fall to your skillz, maybe you should be the uberhacker contracting with DHS. They don't need anything else except you.
