Online communities are fun. When people on the net gather for information, a lot of useful stuff is being posted. But... when is the posted information valid? When do you know when you're being misinformed by a conartist? People can say all they want, because it's hard to track them down. But when your identity isn't anonymous anymore, people will shut up saying untrue things. Because when they aren't anonymous anymore they will think before they post a message on a e-trader bulletinboard saying Sony is bankrupt, causing wallstreet to crash. Anonymity is a good thing, but has it's drawbacks.
Microsoft should integrate the SETI@Home client into their newest Office suite. Using Office the hardware is idle most of the times. CPU cycles are used better with the SETI@Home client.
Over here in the Netherlands the ADSL roll out by KPN telecom (the oldest telco overhere) is way behind schedule. The market wants ADSL, but KPN can't deliver the manpower, supplies etc.
KPN used to have a monopoly, but since a few months a judge decided KPN should let it competitors use it's infrasctucture. I hope this will bring ADSL to my home soon, very fast.
Prices range between approx. 30 - 40 USD per month.
First and formost, information should be very accessable. Keep the user in mind. Why will the visit the site? What kind of information is requested? It's just the basic web design stuff.
Is this such a big deal then to be posted on/.?
It's just an upgraded communicator for crying out loud. Some improvements, but nothin' extraordinary. In fact: if it hadn't all the features it has now, Nokia wouldn't be taken seriously.

You're so right! And to double the add revenues, just post some stories twice! But you've to becareful with that trick, it's better to wait a few days before reposting the same story.

Unix is like that Chevy V8 engine. Basically the same product since it's creation, but improved over the years. Like, more horsepower. Unix will last forever. It will adopt new architectures. Embedded Unix is finding new markets. Heck, if Win CE finds new markets, surely Unix can.
Using the mouse is something this user would have to learn, even if he starts using Linux. But you're right about the doubleclicking. Lucky us, win98 has that html look and feel for the desktop. A single click replaces a doubleclick (like in KDE).
What's so bad with using the w9* interface? 90 % of the desktops runs windows software. If you want users to switch to linux, better make that transition very easy, ie don't change the whole user interface. This way users have two very big pro's for using linux: a familiar user interface, and a very long uptime. Maybe MS is developing a desktop, which can be used on linux, instead of kde, gnome etc.

This had been posted on /. a week or two ago or something.
Not only the technology gotta change. It's your whole voting system. It's ancient.
This reminds me of the SETI@HOME hardware PCI card using cruisemissile parts story a few months back. It was a hoax too.
WTF? LL is just a ice sporting, Bentley driving, cash money making, pimping Nerd. But still a Nerd.
Thank you for your confession. I haven't slept for a single night after losing that game. But it is all good now.

.... and btw Crack is good. Don't believe the hype.
Just add water, and everything will work out just fine.

Maybe it's time for a First Post section? Taco submits a story to it randomly, and whoever posts first, wins a point.
Come on, this isn't for real. It's a joke.
Do you think we are crazy? y|n
Will you help us anyways? y|n

What exactly do you mean? Are you saying you can't buy any CALD shares as a non US-citizen? You can buy CALD shares as a non US-citizen.

Anybody got a clue which companies have licensed this technique?
What do you think of the LinuxOne IPO?
