    That's a floppy. The magnetic materials are very different.     The magnetic coercion of a hard drive is so high that I doubt that these coils could cause the media to be damaged. However, the extra EMI might just make the logic circuits fail.

    Nice of it to let us know gently. It would be nice if the writes (but not reads) were intentionally extremely lagged when the spare blocks started getting low.

    I've had good luck with JabRef which uses a BibTex database on the backend so it integrates very well with LaTeX.

    Ah, it means exactly what I think it means under the scenario where the drives take a crap on the filesystem before you manage to fill them up. Recreate filesystem, start filling, have the drives crap, rinse, repeat. Unlimited storage!

    Fast boot and actually unlimited storage on the 1.5TB Seagates..... Unfortunately there are some firmware revisions of the Seagate that appear to just be rather braindead. Data loss city, but unlimited space, especially of you RAID 0 4 of them!

    You know why, right? It's a physical activity constrained by a largely predetermined set of individual units which can be concatenated onto other units given a probabilistic digraph indicating the odds of successfully connecting one move to another, vis without breaking arms, dropping your partner, etc.
