Can't really comment on the difficulty, but I'd like to add that afaik he never really coded anything, just took stuff Creative made and put it together in a different way, maybe modifying some installation files in the process. Don't take this the wrong way tho, I do respect the work he put into it. Ofc I don't know that much about the whole thing, so if I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
If they throttle you, and CLEARLY tell you so before you buy, then that's fine. I wouldn't buy a service from them if I had a choice, but it's fine. What I have a problem with is selling you bandwidth and not delivering. And resorting to the "you're degrading other people's service" bullshit. You use what you pay for, it's that simple, and if it hurts others then it's the bloody ISP's fault for making promises they can't keep. Not yours.
Not entirely true, the ISP also pays upstream bandwidth providers (unless they are one, and if they are, then they pay for data to/from other networks). There's also all the hardware they have to buy and maintain in between your local link and the interweb. Whether they *should* be paying for all this is (specifically connectivity to other networks), of course, another question entirely. 'Course I'm on a 100Mbit link, and abuse the hell out of it, so I wouldn't exactly be thrilled to see this come to pass. Not too worried tho, since I'm in Finland.
It's exactly this kind of thinking that the ISPs use to justify filtering p2p and whatnot, and it's completely wrong. You pay for a speed of X, then X is the amount of bandwidth you should be allowed to use. If you're not, that's fine, but doesn't change the fact that those that do are perfectly within their rights to do so. If your ISP doesn't want you to use the bandwidth, they shouldn't be selling it to you. What you use it *for* is irrelevant, they shouldn't even *know* what you do on the interwebs, that's your problem, the RI/MPAA's, and the law enforcement's if it comes to that. Not theirs.
I'm a Finn, so I know a few things about silence. In my experience the people who have a (well-earned) reputation for being close-mouthed can in fact be quite vocal when it comes to things that actually matter.
Quite true, in one of the major factors rasterization is so ubiquitous is the inherent parallelizability. Modern gpu's are basically just loads of somewhat slow special-purpose processors working in parallel. However, so is ray-tracing, and it might just scale better on future hardware, so we might start seeing some movement towards it.
Anonymous does have a motive: shits and giggles. However, Anonymous isn't an organized group, simply a label for a collection of wildly different people, some of whom are entirely amoral and do things mostly for their own amusement, at least on the interwebs. Which is why I think taking up the scientology fight under their banner wasn't exactly a bright idea, because it leads to people like me having to constantly make posts like these.
Getting the word out? Almost every anonymous invasion has the theme of "lulz". Scientology being the notable exception, and probably mostly done by people who have no part in all the other invasions.
Not necessarily, however keep in mind that Anonymous is not a single organization but a collective of people who have different morals and values. Technically the Anonymous that griefs forums and social networking sites etc. shouldn't be considered the same entity as the Anonymous that's protesting scientology. Of course, this kind of thing is the downside of having no leadership or any kind of hierarchy whatsoever. In any case, I don't think it's fair to imply that these are the same people (altho in the interests of full disclosure, some might well be).
No, trying to hack only the most desirable one would be dumb, seeing as how either of the other two are worth quite a bit on their own, and there's a rather substantial cash price in it for you as well. This gets repeated constantly, and people *still* bring the same goddamn stupid point up. No wonder you're posting as AC tbh.
God I miss Aureal. Those things were practically cheating in CS, damn near perfect positional sound on 2 speakers/headphones. Why is it that we have to buy expensive 5.1 speaker systems to get anywhere close these days?
I realize that the space elevator has a coolness factor, on a scale of 1-10, of about 14, but still, why is it all we ever hear about? There are other designs for low-cost orbital launch systems that would likely to be a lot more feasible in practice. Namely, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Launch_loop, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_fountain or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbital_ring, altho the orbital ring variant would be a larger construction, but should pose fewer engineering issues.
I acknowledge the funny, but regardless feel I should point out that we (assuming the 'we' here, but very much doubt I'm wrong) don't come here for the stories.
(Also I'm expecting to get modded redundant for this, but hey, karma's already bad)

Sorry to be a spelling nazi, but "scandle" is not a word.

Regardless of whether it was intended as one, it's ridiculous enough to be taken as one.
Hear that? That's the sound of the joke going over your head. Lighten up.

It's the idle layout. And yes, it's horrible.
*Wooosh*
Thank you for bothering to be more eloquent about it than me.
Long as he only used one finger.

By 'this kind of thing' I meant the media saying that Anonymous did this or that Bad Thing. I've no issue with Anonymous myself.

Very true, 'twas more of a rhetorical question. Maybe I should've made that clearer.

This place needs a -1: Wrong.

I love how the Ron Paul people always think that it's impossible to know of him and *reject* him.

Radicals are just that: radicals. The very name implies that they do not represent the religion as a whole.
