    Though Blizzard owns the name of the title, isn't the true successor to the Diablo series, Hellgate?

    Hellgate: London is a dark fantasy-themed action role-playing game developed by Flagship Studios and released on October 31, 2007. This game is made by the same group of people that created the Diablo series who used to work for Blizzard Entertainment, but had separated from them. wikipedia

    Don't get me wrong, Diablo 3 looks promising and I'll probably pick it up at some point, but it seems most of the original staff jumped ship on Blizzard and released their version long before the "official." Sure, it's not in the customary isometric view, but the storyline was very similar along with many of the weapons. Also, nothing like killing demons with not just a sword, but a heavy machine gun as well.

    Owners of ATI Radeon cards will be able to play PhysX games as well, such as Ghost Recon 2 and already mentioned Unreal Tournament 3.

    Not exactly true, they could already play the games with an ATI card, just not with physx enabled

    On a side note, Sir Issac Newton would be proud of these Israelis and their accomplishment of bringing 9.8m/s^2 constant acceleration to ATI gamers.

    Not really opposing it? He supports [washingtonpost.com] it according to every [cbsnews.com] report that I have seen [cnn.com]. This is after saying he'd never support the bill if it had immunity for the telcos in it.

    Sadly, people on here seem to be ignoring that fact. It was posted in another thread (a wired.com article) in the previous telecomm article on /. as well and it was pretty much ignored. I have and had hopes for Obama turning out to be something decent, but the closer it comes to election day, my hopes are slowly starting to decay into apathy once again. I guess there doesn't exist a candidate willing to stand on issues, at least not one who gets elected. I guess I can always throw my vote away to a 3rd party candidate...the election world's equivilant to picking "Cowboy Neal."

    Not exactly easy to brute force a number with 4^10 possiblities when an atm only gives a couple of tries before it locks the account. If it were really that simple, every crackhead with a skimmer would be doing it.

    They use those on most of the cards over in Europe I believe and that's also part of the reason why overseas criminals like to target America, we do not use them. Much easier to find exploits in ours than their's. Shop keepers are also much more proactive overseas in watching out for fraud. In the states, you get some 16 year old cashier who doesnt even own a credit card and could care less.

    Criminals do pick on certain banks by vulnerabilities (not just because they're the largest) and Citi has had plenty of them in the past 6-8 years.

    The pin is nowhere on the card, period, not in the US. Here is what is on the cardAs you can see, the pin is not listed. There is something called the PIN Verification Key Indicator and PIN Verification Value, but those are in the descretionary data, which means the bank has no obligation to put it on there if they choose not to. Aside from that, they are also not the pin itself and cannot be converted to it. The pin only comes into play when you type it in at the terminal.

    Most ATMs in general will hack off all digits after the 4th on cards. As for looking over someone's shoulder for a pin number, that's the least of your worries. Even if they read it, it's still pratically worthless without knowing the track data on the card. They can't very well figure out your cc number or expiration with just a pin. I am also pretty sure Bank of America is running Windows on their ATMs.

    I've come to think that viruses for Apple OS are only released to prove the statement, "Just because you're a virgin and live alone on a desert island, doesn't guarantee you wont get an STD." Now how exactly would you contract it? I'm not quite sure. Maybe a boat of Tahiitian hookers shipwrecks on the island? I guess it keeps Apple from gloating it's OS can't be compromised and keeps the coders on their toes, since everyone knows security through obscurity doesn't work.

    Really? Which sovereign territory does LAX (for example) fall under?

    I did not know that airports are considered embassies. Aside from that, any country would count its airports as being part of their country and subject to their laws. It does suck to deal with all that unnecessary scanning and bullshit that the US is pulling right now for God knows why, but the airport is part of US territory and subject to US laws and in this case, California laws as well (except where they are superceeded by Federal Law).

    I agree that that FCC does way too much meddling, but it does serve a purpose. If there was no regulation, think of how many douchebags out there would be treading all over each other's frequencies with their higher powered antennas. It's pretty certain there would be some who just dont like X's radio station and would just pump out static for spite as well. Now, if you say that the states should have control over the regulation instead, I'll totally agree with you. However, no regulation of frequencies is just a horrible idea.

    I had to create a bash script a while ago to convert color postscript to black and white tiff. I used netpbm and conjunction with ghostscript to do it. Those 2 programs together can do just about anything you want for batch file graphics. Not sure if it will work for .pdf, but .pdf is pretty close to post script and probably easy enough to convert to eps or straight ps. Gimp and as stated above, imagemagick, also have alot of useful batch processing tools, but you have to learn their script language (in the case of gimp) to use it and it's also much slower than netpbm (both imagemagick and gimp).

    My school insists on using a java applet for its email The Ohio State University. Needless to say, it's the worst email system ever devised and has lots of cross browser incompatiblities. To top it off, they really think the java applet is a good idea, because they just did a major update to it, overhauling the entire program.

    Does this take into consideration a large portion of the bots in the US being controlled by forces outside of the country? It's a pretty well known that just because a computer is spamming and its origin is within the US doesn't mean it's being controlled by an American.

    In my honest opinion, if you support Safari as a webmaster, then you should support Opera as well, due to browser usage being around the same. In my experience, I've had very little problems with firefox or opera, they seem close to the same as long as you're dealing with straight html 4.01, css 2.1 and little to no javascript. Safari gives me some troubles with its selectBox sizes and fonts. However, as far as cross supporting browsers, if you're a webmaster and you don't feel like supporting X browser, please don't put some message that tells me I should switch to Y browser that you happen to like or your company wants to support. That's just being a self-rightous prick and lazy.
