  1. Obligatory "Wayne's World" Quote on Miguel de Icaza Explains How To "Get" Mono · · Score: -1, Offtopic

but I find the TODO: comments helpful during development. You can also define custom tags in Visual Studio .NET to easily annotate code and quickly find the tags later on using the task list.

Granted, I don't know if it's patent-worthy, but it is a helpful tool that I've not seen elsewhere.

  4. Re:For the minions on Google Files for IPO · · Score: 1

I heard a couple nights ago on Marketplace that the founders (of Google) where trying to persuade the investment bankers (or whoever needs persuading) to allow the auctioning of some of the stock, so that the general public could really get in on the bottom floor.

Otherwise, they made it sound like it would mostly be big investors (ie mutual funds) that would get the bulk of the shares.

I agree with the sibling post, in that when I've researched how to obtain a clearance, I've found that you need to be hired first and have your employer help you get the clearance.

Is there any other way to go about it?

  6. Oops on A Terabyte In A Cigar Box · · Score: 1

I guess it's not all one big drive.

    Nevermind.

  7. Backups? on A Terabyte In A Cigar Box · · Score: 1

I didn't see it specifically mentioned, but it appears as if this storage is all on one drive.

For that much cash, I think I'd prefer to have two drives, half the size, that replicate each other automagically in case of the failure of one of the drives.

Half a terabyte should be enough for anybody :)

  8. Fear of Pop on Shatner to Record Another Album · · Score: 1

This isn't the first time that Shatner has worked with Ben Folds. He performs a great spoken word track on Folds' side project album, "Fear of Pop: Volume 1".

  9. Network install on Fedora Core 1 Released · · Score: 1

I just installed the last beta/release candidate/whatever last night, using the ~4MB boot.iso image available in the "images" directory of the distribution. I was able to install over FTP without any problems. Just a heads up for those who don't want to download between 1 and 3 CD's.

    Eh?
