I'm an admin and have been using a wireless laptop since wireless b came out. My wife and I couldn't have kids for the longest time so we went and got tested. I'm told normal sperm count is 50-60 million. Mine's 480 million. I would think the heat from an improperly vented laptop would be more of a negative that any radio waves.

When in college I had Palm Pilots with keyboards, laptops, and portables (lunch box pc's). But honestly the best results I got was using a simple digital recorder to record the audio. A digital camera (no flash) to catch the board. and I sat a really listened. Later I would listen to the audio and type my notes from that. I'd also drop the photos I'd taken in as well. You pay good money for the teacher to be there, but you may not ask a lot of questions if you are too busy taking notes. I sold my notes multiple times and more than paid for my text books. (I got straight A's in a double major involving business and computers.)
NC law. There is a different set of rules if you are within 100 yards of a school or federal building. Essentially, if you are stopped and pulled over while driving bu a campus, school yard or bank, you are now a felon.
My little story. Back in 1994 when I was attending a NC university. I was working the computer labs as a part-time job soIi could afford the one meal a day at the school's all-you-can-eat buffet line. I was putting myself through school and working two part-time jobs. I was tired. I in a shit-hole but it was all I could afford. I had a hand gun in my car. In NC it has to be in plain sight. It saved my ass more than a few times when assholes would come up to my window at a light then walk off quickly when they saw my "extra gear shift". So I was tired one day. I drive onto campus to get my bag from one of the labs. My main purpose there was to help mommy's little precious get his porn and show him how to write a paper on the computer. So I get pulled over going 25 in a 20mph zone. Not thinking where I was (sleepy as hell) I put the gun on the dashboard and put my hands at 10 and 2 like a state trooper had said I should when I asked him what I should do if stopped. So the campus cop goes Barney Fief and calls for backup and doesn't even ask me anything. 5 more cars pull up (6 in all) with lights and I'm pulled out of the car at gunpoint. They hand me off to the city cops who drive me over to the chancellor's office. I've got no record and I'm an A student. "Make an example of him and book him as a felon." was his reply. The cops booked me thankfully under a misdemeanor. My punishment? The loss of my handgun, University probation for 2 years, and I had to make 6 anti-gun posters, and serve 250 hours of community service. the last was easy as I already helped with Habitat for Humanity. I thoroughly believe the adage, "If you can't do, teach." In my experience its true.
The staff at the university are not your friends. You are product and they do not want leaders. They want sheep. PC seems to be seeping out of the university culture into everything now. Feel offended? Its not your fault and you don't have to tolerate it. Now sit down and color.
Man I'm glad you said this. Saved me the trouble. I drill and pitch drives because my manager knows more than I due to his having more gray hair than I.
I trash 10+ a year. This is how its done. Drill a 1/4 right through the drive so its hits all the platters on the way through and comes out the other side. Then pitch them in the dumpster.
You were attempting to invalidate my comment. Malicious code is written for an intended target. Android a year ago was more vulnerable than today, yet today it is hit more often. Why? What has changed? Its size.
Yes. You are correct. My point was the poster was saying that if one selects MS then they are asking for problems. I'm pretty sure that if Apple had 80+ market share there would be a lot of issues with them as well, despite the control they have over the OS and hardware and developers. Android has even less control than MS so I am certain it will be riddles with exploits.
Nice one. Missed the point of course. The post was about MS. Specifically if you selected MS you were asking for problems. I was attempting (failed) to point out that if Apple had the same market share they would have lots of problems as well. NO system is secure. Ask RSA.
MS is vulnerable because its the biggest target out there. Android is now the biggest mobile target. As Apple gets a larger share, it will become a target as well. I dislike MS as much as anyone I know, but your statement is simply foolish. ALL systems can be compromised by stupid users. I say stupid and not ignorant. I have more than my fair share of stupid users and pushing them to Linux won't solve it. You can only solve it by building sandboxes around them.
LMAO! Yeah i imagine so, however I live in a small town. Chesterfield, SC where 5 cars in a row is considered a pile up. I doubt they have ever even seen an auto sorter of any type. But I seal up the letter and then drop it in a standard white business envelope so as not to cause to much pain. The wax seal is at the bottom, the stamping happens at the top.
Yep. But I am not that interesting so a letter from me every month is enough. Plus I like the idea that someone doesn't have to be plugged in to read my letter or look at pictures. This is especially true for some of my friends in other developing countries.
I have personally not dropped my facebook page but I visit a lot less often now. I've closed my blog page and I have returned to writing letters. I'm an IT admin so its a little difficult relearning to "write" with a pen so that others can read it. But a lot of my friends world-wide like the letter with the clipped photos and other things I send. There is something more personable in a letter that someone actually wrote and handled. i also got a custom wax stamp so i send them out with wax seals like they used to 100 years ago.

You are correct. People should have a choice. If one wished to smoke, go smoke away from those that do not want to stink from the smoke for the rest of the day. The right to breathe clean air trumps the right for someone to smoke and blow their filth into the air for the rest of those that may not want to breathe it. The argument of "if you don't like it, then go elsewhere" is not what I would think many would like. What? You don't want to see me naked while you eat? Then go elsewhere. What? You don't want to hear me talk loudly or scream or make a lot of noise? Then go elsewhere.
Make you a deal. I'd be all for bringing back the smoking section or making it allowable to smoke in the entire place as long as I don't have anyone demanding me to conduct myself in anyway that might be construed as insensitive to others by farting, screaming, being naked or any other such activity.
But I really do see your point. Why can't this be left up to the owner of the place and not some law? But then I suppose one could also make the argument that if one chooses to smoke then they should choose to pay whatever health premiums the health insurer wishes to charge them or perhaps even lose that coverage. But that is way off topic. The topic is toxicity. Tobacco is toxic and should honestly be made illegal as we all pay for the folks that choose to poison themselves.
Thanks. I just hand them to the shop guy and he does it. But I'll pass it along.

I am puzzled by people who defend a person's "right" to smoke in public places. Smoking pollutes the air around the smoker. It is unhealthy and the odor is offensive. Should you wish to smoke, fart, spit, or smear turds on your clothes you should not be shocked when someone asks you to leave or to refrain from doing this in a public place. If we were to follow this logic, there should be no reprisals for being loud either. As we cannot turn off our hearing, we cannot chose to NOT breathe.
I like having my freedoms. But smoking is not a freedom any more than dumping untreated sewage into the rivers is a freedom. Your "go elsewhere if you want a smoke free environment" is simply infantile. If you want to provide a eating establishment that caters to smokers, then make it a private club that is not open to the public. If this is not allowed under the law, then I believe it should be.
And since the subject has been raised, know that I will be carrying a squirt gun and will dampen anyone who smokes in a public area or puffs out disgusting clouds of smoke in front of the door to my workplace. I'm going wear my "You smoke, I fart" T-shirt to work this casual Friday.
