    They probably think it means Apple Audio Codec and not Advanced Audio and that it is entirely a creation of Apple and not a standard part of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 that even the Zune plays.

    Lower taxes won't stop the corps from evading taxation until we have the lowest tax rate available to them. Lower taxes will just mean that we get less from the corps that aren't able to avoid paying taxes.

    Don't you know? Women can only be victims of sex crimes. A woman would *never* commit a sex crime against anyone.

    Yes, that's sarcasm, but most people don't want to think of women (or children) as being capable of bad things (even though they are just as able as men).

    And why do you think Amazon was able to offer plain MP3s? Because the RIAA realized they created a monster in iTunes that they themselves couldn't control so they needed others that could compete with it, with an advantage.

    It's easy to live without an income, the rich do it all the time.

    Now if there was a wealth tax alongside income tax, that would be interesting. But it'd be futile as the wealthy are wealthy because they have the money to pay people to make sure they stay wealthy.

    But... But... the edges of reflected photons aren't as jagged as backlit screen photons so they won't tear holes in your eyes and all the fonts look warmer with reflected photons!

    If it is something I'll want to have around awhile and be able to easily shift formats, I'll buy the CD. Exceptions being when the music isn't available at reasonable prices (out of print, imports) for CD but are available at normal rates for download.

    Like the Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom soundtracks. The original CDs cost an arm and a leg and the recently re-issued versions changed up some of the tracks. E-Music had the import versions available for download and they were basically the original issue of the domestic versions.

    If new CDs start out at $10 or less now I'll pretty much being only buying downloads for singles or absolute impulse buys, aside from my previously stated exceptions. Now if only they would include a re-release of the original Patton (and not the re-recording of it) soundtrack under this pricing scheme...

    Just a minor point here, having sex can lead to pregnancy, not to directly having a baby. Even then pregnancy doesn't always lead to having a baby. Sex may result in pregnancy which may result in a baby.

    You say congress has declared war, I say congress decided to not commit political suicide by "not supporting our troops" and very patriotically rubber stamped every military funding bill even vaguely concerned with our desert excursion.

    Of course it'd be political suicide to actually declare war these days. I mean, what if we lost and you voted for it. That'd look bad. And don't even think of voting against a very patriotic war in this post 9/11 world. Thus the only solution is never declare war. Approve continued funding for troops sent out by executive orders and call it a patriotic day.

    If the suspect poses an immediate threat to someone such that intervention of immediate lethal force is the is the only likely and foreseeable way to resolve the situation so that less harm comes to the officer or the third party then it is not assassination nor cowardly.

    Now, can you understand the difference between battle and assassination? Self defense and assassination? Assassination involves killing people but not all killings are assassinations.

    Are you just being obtuse or can't you comprehend that there is a difference between uniformed soldiers of a recognized state actor directly participating in active battle against other uniformed soldiers of another recognized state actor under a formal declaration of war and using drones, with no declared war, against non-state actors without the consent of the targeted country, to kill specific people?

    The problem is that this isn't war. It's a police action. It'd be war once congress declares war.

    This is a state actor (US Military) fighting against a collection of non-state-actors/civilian groups without a formal declaration of war (including all the formalities that come with a declaration of war between state actors).

    So really, this is (foreign) law enforcement. There should be due process. If congress can't be bothered to issue a declaration of war then we should still be bound by civilian conventions.
