I guess you could write a small program to enter the telephone numbers and names save as an mp3 with ID3 tags as contact name and a small MP3 file with the DTMF tones to dial the contact. To bad redboxes don't work any more or the ipod would make a nice phreaking tool.
One thing I find humorous is that most of the movies that are on the net for download, were made from a video camera in a theatre.
No matter how much effort is put into protecting consumer media it will always be a failure. If they copy protect all of the cds that I buy I could always just play it on a approved cd player and set up a microphone. What they do with software or hardware can always be done with the same technology.
Copy protect my vinyl bitch. Mmm analog fucking kicks ass.
Distilled water will still fuck electronics up, although you can use deionized water with electronics. One of my friends who is a laser geek uses deionized water to cool is Yag laser.
That looks all to familar Two friends of mine have gotten computers/moniters shipped to them and the result from UPS was about the same. Holes in the boxes/moniters, as well as dents in the power supply from a resistor on a B&W G3. Other than that I have not had a problem shipping network equipment with UPS. One thing to remember is to only pack one thing in a box. One computer one box don't try to save on shipping. When possible INSURE INSURE INSURE, and make sure to insure for about $300 more than it is worth.

This statement is full of shit! The only thing I get consistant from a USB CD burner is a BUFFER underrun! Wow now I have 100 coasters!
When I use a Firewire CD burner I plug it in the computer mounts it I burn a CD. I plug in a USB cd burner... reboot... Start burning a CD and 2 time out of 3 I get an error!
According to my Software Engineering Professor around 90% of all software engineering projects fail. With implementation of UML they are trying to change this. Using UML and a case tool you are able to save a great deal of time by generating code as well as documentation. The one problem with this is the programs to do this are basically, rational rose (~$4000) and Microsoft visio (YUCK). Well I must be off to my 8:00 calc class:)
I keep all of my gadgets in my big ole kelty backpack. This way I can goto the store after work and carry everything too. Keep in mind I don't have a car and ride my bike everywhere. I also use an old discman pouch by caselogic for my camera cellphone extra-batteries, ginseng fliers and whatever else I fit in there sometimes.
if you have an rivet gun that does the bolts you can make the mounting posts for the board in just a normal tool chest type drawer system. But I think it might be best to buy a smaller musical type 19' rack and get 2 space rack for each motherboard and either get a small rackmount motherboard power supply (just look on yahoo for manufactures) The same manufacturers have larger or even custom power supplies too. Good luck!
Peace,
Adam
I have been using OS X on my machine since september. It is nice and all I like the BSD subsystem. But I also have SuSE installed on another partition. The extra money is worth the hardware nice stuff! Plus you can get an old mac fairly cheaply, like $300 for an old imac on ebay. But to tell the truth I am going to build an x86 box to run linux on I don't want my desktop machine to be a server, then I get more cranks done for dnetc! Go Team Slashdot!
Surfing through a payphone is done everyday using a coupler to the payphone handset lets you access your anonymous freeweb ISP then do whatever you want. If you want to access the web from home do it, just don't do anything that you shouldn't be doing. If you just have to be an elite Warez/MP3/Porn junkie and don't want people to know about it encrypt your stuff.
Just like there title this is what they are, They plug into a passive backplane most backplanes support two SBCs (single board computers) They also make half size cards that have two PIII or xeons. SBCs are a great way to go most have LCD support so you could make your I-opener this way. I am working on putting up a plan. You can also buy SBCs that do not need a backplane. This could be your car MP3 player either use a IDE hard drive or a flashcard to run the thing. After that you should be able to pick up a small LCD moniter with an optional touch screen kit from http://www.flat-panel.com/ These guys also offer LCD controler cards and moniter kits starting around $200. To hell with the I-opener make your own. For a list of manufactures look up single board computer on yahoo and you will get a list of about 30 manufactures. I perticularly interesting one is http://www.synergymicro.com They offer QUAD G4 boards as well as QUAD G3 boards which all run SMP linux.

See a lawyer, take a vacation and finish the project.
