A high earning physician told me his tax load will increase by $100,000 per year when this bill is fully implemented.

So? If he's being taxed that much then he certainly has enough money that he won't have to worry. It's much easier to maintain wealth when you're rich so I have very little sympathy for the selfish prick.

People that don't drive contribute taxes towards the highways. In fact some tax money from tobacco was going towards roads rather than helping cover the cost of smoking related health costs. Amazingly no one has a problem with socialism when it funds their roads.

Should that not be a free-market system and we can turn every road into a toll road? That would be the most fair thing apparently.

So if you get cancer you should labelled damaged goods and possibly never get insurance again or pay an extortionate amount even if you never get cancer again?

Your analogies are flawed because bad driving only affects your car insurance where as getting cancer can affect your ability to be able to afford coverage for something completely unrelated.

I think most people don't object to having to pay for insurance. The issue is what happens when you want to use it. Car insurance is different because you can and should avoid damaging your car. Your body on the other hand will start to fail as you get older. No matter how hard you try you will almost certainly have to use health insurance (unless of course you die) and to punish people for something that can't be avoided after the fact they paid out so much already is out of order.

I rather pay the equivalent of insurance into the NHS and not have to worry about if I have to actually go to the hospital because it won't be held against me the rest of my life.

Microsoft has managed a profit on the 360 by screwing consumers over at every corner. They have the only paid net service which has no browser so you're tied into what they want you to see. You have to buy wifi seperately at an insane cost. Same with upgrading your hard drive. You can only use their special hard drive which funnily enough costs way more than it should.

Despite their year lead and their supposed superior list of games the PS3 has zoomed up on their ass and has a slim chance of over taking the 360 by the end of the year though not likely.

They claimed the Wii's success didn't matter as it was a totally different market and here MS, like Sony, is dripping off Nintendo's idea of going after casuals with motion control because they got thrashed by Nintendo.

Now they're close to getting beat by Sony because no one outside of the US really cares for the 360 and the PS3 has superior worldwide power so MS is forced to be a little more open, like their competition, to try and maintain their lead.

MS fans should hope Sony over takes the 360 soon. It's about the only way MS will stop screwing their customers.

So for the vast majority of people standard doesn't make sense because they probably can't even drive it that well.

The only people that turn their noses up to anything without a clutch are either poor or worried about their penis size. Personally I don't care. Automatic is much more convenient but there's not wrong with driving a manual either. There are a lot more important things, as far as I'm concerned, on a car. A recent interview has confirmed that BioShock 2 will be receiving downloadable content after it launches next month. According to 2K Marin's Kent Hudson, the studio is working on some "aggressive" DLC plans as we speak.

"Absolutely," says Hudson, when asked if DLC is coming. "We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that’s actually something that is already underway. That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing."

So far, nothing has been detailed, so we've no idea what form this DLC may take. The original BioShock released a new difficulty level along with some brand new Plasmids. With BioShock 2 containing multiplayer and 2K Games ready to make as much cash as possible, who knows what treats are in store for our wallets?

He repeatedly called it DLC and said downloadable content. The implication is clear that you are purchasing content grabbed from a server and not an unlock code.

What reason would they have to cause this confusion other than to deceive people knowing full well they would not go for it.

You can debate what the $60 buys you when you purchase the game. That's fine and I'm fine with them selling unlock codes but they should have to be completely honest and at the very least no call it DLC because it is not.

  25. Re:Complete scam on BioShock 2's First DLC Already On Disc · · Score: 1

Take a look at the acronym DLC, it stands for downloadable content. You're not really downloading the content at all. It's there already. I do considering that deceptive and as I said I consider it just a tactic to bump the price of the game up after you've bought it.

At least with real DLC the price is justified by the bandwidth costs and additional development time. They aren't footing a bill for downloading the content and if it's on the disk then it's not really additional development.

I'm not saying I'd like it if it was cheaper. It would still be dodgy, imo. Like the example given earlier with Windows Vista. While all versions may be on the disk, at least it has variable pricing depending on how much content you use with a one off payment.

If they want to do that fine but label the game as containing content which has to be unlock for a price or at the very least don't call it DLC.

They know most people wouldn't not be impressed at all by this tactic so rather than being honest and letting the market decide, they've masked their moves hoping most people wouldn't figure it out.
