All the excuses for warezing games or using emulation over the actual item(recent hardware like the Nintendo DS notthe Atari 2600 doesn't count) is just an excuse for people to justify that they're a thief.
If they're demoing it t hen there should be an rise in sales at some point. You can't say everyone that priates a game to demo it find it to be shit when they're often found playing it online a lot.
The "I wouldn't have bought it anyway so it's not a lost sale" crowd are just idiots. You still got the experience so you had something for free. It might be digital bits that can be replicated but does that mean you don't pay for roller coaster rides or arcade games since, once you're done, the item is still there for someone else to use? No, you don't because you don't have the balls to use that justification in real life, because you know it's wrong.
Finally, those people hat say the games aren't worth it because developers are just shovelling shit out to sell...well it's worth you taking the time to download, risk getting a virus on your PC and your time sitting there playing it for free so it does have a value, quite a high one if you think your time is valuable and your computer has something worth while on it that you don't want damaged by a virus.
The fact is most people pirate games because they can and they're children whose parents wouldn't buy those games for them or they can't afford them or it's people who spent an absolute fortune on their PC and as far as their concerned they've paid enough for the right to be gaming on that machine.
I don't think this should have been modded flamebait when he's correct. I do think Street View is going to have a tough time outside of the US but the fact is there isn't any thing wrong with Street View and you don't have to use it.
It's actually a good thing that coffee cups have handles, cars have seatbelts, and word processors have 'undo'.
You see those things affect everyone because anyone can have an accident even if they don't do something stupid. But clicking "purchase" because you think it's a joke and you're going to have a laugh is something the average person won't do.
Well, to be fair, the flash plugin, imo, for Linux is still shit and crashes at times where the Windows version doesn't. Maybe I'm just unfortunate but it generally appears to be Adobe's fault not the flash creator's fault.
Yes everyone has stupid moments but if your stupid moment means clicking on a $1000 app and buying it then you deserve to be outta pocket on that one.
The whole "what about my old mom, grandmother, etc" automatically assumes that by default being old means you're stupid and we have to protect all the old people from their own stupidity. It's just like a lot of usability experts. They feel feel they're above everyone and must protect the stupid masses.
The fact is most people get by just fine and the fact is that only 8 people bought it with maybe one being an accident just goes to show most people are bright enough to avoid paying £1000 for a stupid app. Just because one person is obviously a tard doesn't mean things should be dumbed down.
And you're right I'm not an expert on everything and if there is anything I'm unsure about I seek advice before going ahead with whatever it is I'm doing. Sometimes people are just too stupid to do something which is why they take driving licenses and credit cards away from people.
I'm not sure which sites you visit but aside from things like that ajax powerpoint creator that's a full blown app, I can't think of a decent site with Javascript performance issues....aside from my previous version of Ubuntu with FF2 but that was the browser's fault.
I rarely see any site with java (In fact applets have been a focus on the upcoming version of Java because of their lack of popularity) and not having flash is rather boring.
To be honest it sounds like you might as well just use Lynx.
I've never had spyware or virus problems since I've been on the net and that's thanks to just being sensible and I don't have to limit myself to a 1996 style web.
Of course they're similar but how can you say the santa most people envision today isn't invented by Coke but that that it's become the iconic view of how Santa looks? That's contradictory really.
The fact that the coke santa has become the definitive santa certainly means Coke's done more than Nast has considering even after Nsat's pics there were still santas wearing other colours and of varying weights. It's not been until Coke's popularity and globalisation that unified the world on Santa.
In fact in the UK it is more common for him to be called Santa now instead of Father Christmas and that'll be due to Coke more than any one else.
So yeah they didn't invent fat guy in red santa but they've done more to influence and create an international image of Santa we have today.
The Crayola people will be coming after you for implying that crayons can't create valuable art so don't be surprised if you wake up with a significant portion of Burnt Umber up your back side.
Why is it there is always someone who has a grandma/old mom/old person that uses everything and we're told we have to cater to the fact that this person's grandma/old mom/old person has apple sauce for brains?
If you mom has issue with buying overpriced things online then she shouldn't be allowed to shop online.
The app, imo, is totally valid as long as it does what it claimed even if it's over priced because no one forced you to buy it. Apple should reinstate it.
I've not used an iphone but I find it highly unlikely that, when you buy things, with one click nothing is said and you're automatically charged so no one has an excuse if they've purchased it.
The Mac has everything a Windows PC has including Office. The only thing the Mac lacks is gaming so unless your mom is a game developer maybe she just didn't look hard enough.
Yes for Canadians but other people use other addresses.
If you are talking about the real St. Nick then he's from the Mediterranean.
If you are talking about the American invention by Coke then he lives at the North Pole which is the the very top of the earth where all cartoons imply there is a candy cane striped pole stuck in the ground.
Ignoring the fact that living at a moving location would be dumb (Santa isn't a pikey) there are claims he lives in Lapland but here's the thing, he's not real. So why debate it? The closest thing to a real Santa Claus is a greek.
Besides do you honestly think Santa Claus would live in a country that clubs baby seals to death and treats their native population like scum of the earth?
The best way to game "your game" published is by making the most unoriginal over done piece of insipid piece of shit gear towards the 12 to 18 year old age group.
If you're good with windows there isn't *that* much of a transition into Linux if you're using a graphical interface which you will because what would be the point of running Linux on a command-line only for anything other than a server?

Except for the fact you can fly east from the US to Russia, east through Russia and end up on the west of the US. :P
The curve of the horizon (in a flat open area) more than disproves this.

Because lets face it, the guy hasn't come up with a good idea in quite some time.

If it's like iTunes then it's not one click. Even Amazon's "one-click" isn't one click from start to end.

Maybe they implemented it wrong because I use Safari and FF on Windows and FF on Linux and never had a problem with Verified by Visa.
I registered for it ages ago and it's not a hassle. In fact I only have one place that I frequent that uses it.
However if you're given the option to opt out then that should be the case even if they are trying to protect people with verified by visa.
But do you know the blow is made locally and that your hookers are imports?
A thousand dollars. He sold it six times, then... five times... six times... wait, $5,600?
Did somebody let Schrodinger's cat play with the iPhone again?
Apple takes a cut for hosting it.
Why is it there is always someone who has a grandma/old mom/old person that uses everything and we're told we have to cater to the fact that this person's grandma/old mom/old person has apple sauce for brains?

That shouldn't be a valid excuse and they shouldn't get a refund. If you think it's a joke share the link with your friends, don't buy the thing.

Yeah because any VC that's good at what they would do would completely ignore a potential money making idea over an NDA.
They'll just tell you that NDA are for faggots and boot your simple ass out the door.

I've moved out over 5 years ago and to be honest, seeing how my last trip to the states went, I won't be coming back.
I shouldn't have wasted all my mod points. This needs a +funny.
