    Face it, lots of people in our field die young. Being fat and sitting around all day is not good. I hope it's nothing and he's ok but likewise I wouldn't be that surprised. Just as I wouldn't be that surprised if someone said Gabe Newell had a heart attack. We've got some really awesome people we're risking losing early do to choices of a career.

    Shame it can be a fun and healthy career.

    I don't see why people are getting so upset because he *may* keep his job and lied about his qualifications. The lie is relatively minor really. I know someone is probably crying because they had to pay the money for the thing he's claiming for free. But just remember the amount of hours of hard work and possibly even over time someone had to do to gain X years of experience and you're effectively taking that away from them by exaggerating on your CV.

    but then again who cares. If a person does a job well then why should it matter if they lied about their experience or their degree. All that matters is how it affects my company. I find it ironic that CS degree holders are so upset when, from my experience, people in technology seem far more likely to lie on their CVs about tools and technologies they've used.

    It's not a problem for a lot of companies. My former company built many hard-worker medium / larger sized python applications. Good programmers don't have a problem with dynamic languages.

    It's more than gay marriage. They just don't want to pay taxes, having a big ass military and have a completely Christian run country which of course means people have to live by the law of god which I don't call a hands off policy.

    Except that Google and pretty much every major corporation go out of their way to avoid taxes so I'm not sure how stating the truth is bad. If anything your complaint should be that the story is pointless because it doesn't only apply to google but everyone.

    That's because they're still event and bully smallers companies into making patent payments and the operating perhaps the most closed system ever (xbox) where it took years just to get the BBC iplayer because MS couldn't handle the fact they couldn't force you to have a gold subscription to use it.

    It didn't always have this functionality built in. This is the problem with Microsoft abusing its monopoly. They've added so many things to their OS, killing people's ability to compete in the market for so long that now when they remove something all their users get angry because they might have to look for something which, actually, is probably better than WMP.

    Why would Apple fans feathers be ruffled, as the submitter suggests because xbox workers are being treated like shit and aren't we masking how big this problem is if we only mention apple and don't mention that Microsoft and many other companies are happy to have their products made by employees who are being treated poorly?
