Face it, lots of people in our field die young. Being fat and sitting around all day is not good. I hope it's nothing and he's ok but likewise I wouldn't be that surprised. Just as I wouldn't be that surprised if someone said Gabe Newell had a heart attack. We've got some really awesome people we're risking losing early do to choices of a career.
I don't see why people are getting so upset because he *may* keep his job and lied about his qualifications. The lie is relatively minor really. I know someone is probably crying because they had to pay the money for the thing he's claiming for free. But just remember the amount of hours of hard work and possibly even over time someone had to do to gain X years of experience and you're effectively taking that away from them by exaggerating on your CV.
but then again who cares. If a person does a job well then why should it matter if they lied about their experience or their degree. All that matters is how it affects my company. I find it ironic that CS degree holders are so upset when, from my experience, people in technology seem far more likely to lie on their CVs about tools and technologies they've used.
It's not a problem for a lot of companies. My former company built many hard-worker medium / larger sized python applications. Good programmers don't have a problem with dynamic languages.
It's more than gay marriage. They just don't want to pay taxes, having a big ass military and have a completely Christian run country which of course means people have to live by the law of god which I don't call a hands off policy.
Except that Google and pretty much every major corporation go out of their way to avoid taxes so I'm not sure how stating the truth is bad. If anything your complaint should be that the story is pointless because it doesn't only apply to google but everyone.
That's because they're still event and bully smallers companies into making patent payments and the operating perhaps the most closed system ever (xbox) where it took years just to get the BBC iplayer because MS couldn't handle the fact they couldn't force you to have a gold subscription to use it.
It didn't always have this functionality built in. This is the problem with Microsoft abusing its monopoly. They've added so many things to their OS, killing people's ability to compete in the market for so long that now when they remove something all their users get angry because they might have to look for something which, actually, is probably better than WMP.
I'm not surprised he thought about home automation because he certainly wouldn't have been the first one. It's one of those things a lot of people want to conquer.
Yeah but we want the best of both worlds. Having something no one knows about and then being able to sue others out of existence for copying the thing they didn't know about.
Apple does indeed avoid as much tax as possible just like every other corporation and most, if not all, rich people. I understand you want to grab attention for this submission but it's completely stupid. It shouldn't have made it on the site.
Why would Apple fans feathers be ruffled, as the submitter suggests because xbox workers are being treated like shit and aren't we masking how big this problem is if we only mention apple and don't mention that Microsoft and many other companies are happy to have their products made by employees who are being treated poorly?
You have to pretend that Foxconn only work with Apple and all other companies are good wholesome companies. Because as everyone knows mentioning Apple gets you more hits on your website.

Shame it can be a fun and healthy career.
That and Virgin Media didn't exactly choose to block pirate bay so even if it only affected them it would still be the wrong target.
Good thing the small guy is generally short sighted and selfish. Otherwise the politicians might have to change.

While I disagree with his punishment it was racism and not political speech.
Why no privatise everything then? Every road can be a toll road and you can be happy that you're not paying taxes.

So you prove him wrong by pointing out that it's a longer distance to Chicago? Besides, unless you're Russian, your country is small.

They've only just raised the price on Europe. They probably haven't decided how much to raise it for Americans.

Because Firefox is better than Chrome.
Yeah they should give in so all those prudish Americans can use it without feeling like they're offending Jesus.
That sounds like communist talk.
This started before Google was involved, retard.
This is just the free market. If you don't like it then you're a communist.

It has no advertising at all and windows runs all of people's old applications which allow them to avoid buying new software.

So Microsoft is a poor company and must use labour that borders on slave labour?
