There's this little thing called NATO which mandates defending member states, some of which are in eastern Europe. Europeans honored their NATO obligations to invade Afghanistan, which was quite a stretch since the Afghan government didn't attack the U.S., so they'll certainly defend Europe. (Not that Russia is interested in attacking Europe.)
It's relevant because the fact that's it's mostly Muslim is a cultural difference which justifies a push for independence or autonomy. Same reason articles have stated that Kosovo is mostly Muslim.
Yeah, remember when Czechoslovakia attacked its separatist region which German troops were charged with protecting under a UN-mandated peacekeeping operation?
It's not a punishment to lock up a geek with a computer and give him free food and no need to ever go outside... it's fulfilling his dreams. So, hopefully he doesn't get rewarded for murder.
Palin has more executive branch experience than the other three combined. I won't vote for her, but I'd say she wins on *relevant* experience. There's a reason senators almost never get elected president unless they're running against other senators.
Right... all you need is a huge, sun-sized source of radiation to make radioactive decay go faster. The waste can be destroyed in a day if you don't mind killing everyone on the planet.
Outside of the fact that we're amongst the most fabulously wealthy people in the world and live with peace and security unknown to the rest of the world, yes, the sky is falling.
Ability to choose phone providers? Most of us have no choice other than AT&T for local phone service... and even if we did, we'd have to use AT&T phone service to get AT&T DSL, for which there are no competitors.
The AT&T breakup accomplished exactly nothing -- the breakup was along regional lines, which didn't create competition since there was still a local monopoly in each area. It merely made things less efficient. The regulators seem to realize it was a mistake, which is why they let AT&T reassemble itself.
Depends on how complex your designs are and how paranoid you are. I've never been unable to see a reported IE issue in wine's IE -- and Konqueror has always been close enough to Safari to work for testing, even though khtml and webkit are different. Certainly never seen any difference between linux and windows firefox or opera either.
Lots of linux users would like to have IE, because we need to test websites in it. I have the wine versions of IE6 and IE7, but they're extremely slow and mostly broken, so a version from Microsoft would be great. And if it turned out to be the better browser, of course, I'd use it regularly.
A browser being able to do stuff is always better than having to install extensions to get the browser to do stuff. Most of us keep extensions to a bare minimum to avoid the problems they can cause.
The solution to the second was to put forward the policy that the best of all alternatives will be chosen
That's not the Ubuntu policy. The Ubuntu policy is to not include any proprietary applications (except in repositories for later install), and to only include proprietary drivers if there's no working free alternative (even if the proprietary version is better).
Realistically, such recycling won't take place until it's easy. And I mean easy for everyone, not just for home owners who get recycling bins. Is it even possible for someone who lives in an apartment and doesn't drive to recycle?

The republican party cares deeply about the rights of wealthy, property owning women.

No, the LGPL is to make sure the code freed remains free. The GPL is to force new proprietary code connected to it to be made free.

If you don't have enough room for unlimited, don't sell unlimited
... which is why they're not selling unlimited anymore. Good for them.
As bandwidth increases, "unlimited" becomes less and less possible. If they were offering you 1mbps they'd give you true unlimited monthly transfer.
October is a month.
And why should those of us who live alone subsidize 9 people paying paying the same price as one of us?

Yep, IEtab has never worked on linux(/mac/solaris/bsd).
Lighting is a lot cheaper than heating and cooling. The better insulation you get without Windows gives a much better TCO.
For generously forgiving values of "runs" (wine) or curious definitions of what it means to run on an OS (virtual machines).

It's not like you need x86 for linux. My linux-running N770 (ARM chip) fits easily in my pocket, and it even has a screen.

The Film Crew is dead, replaced by RiffTrax.
part of what makes linux awesome is the fact that it's generally supported by some important commercial things like adobe flash and nvidia
Yes, that commercial support is why most of us choose Linux over BSD or Solaris. GNewSense simply removes the competitive advantage of Linux.

There's only one way to eradicate cancer: destroy all life. Dead things don't get cancer.
