Ah yes, it's a right wing conspiracy. Nothing the left wing could be doing might be even remotely possible for damaging education in science.
"Little Bobby and Suzy are special snowflakes, they don't need to answer the questions correctly, as long as they tried we'll give them gold stars and boost their self confidence."
No, what says volumes about bitcoin is that nobody talks about the value of bitcoin in terms of what it can buy, but in what the value of a bitcoin is when converted to a real currency such as USD.
When there's a thriving economy of companies paying employees in bitcoin and those employees buying every day goods and services in bitcoin, then I'll take notice. Until then it's just another bubble looking for the greater fool.
Seems to me that level of extortion would have been easy for government to solve if they had truly wanted to. Why do we care if thieves continue to do business with us? Government was complicit in the whole thing.
I'd say it has something to do with the fact that no intelligent investor is interested, leaving this market totally to the amateurs, both from the "investing" side and the "bank" side. MtGox was a card game trading site for crying out loud. It certainly wasn't built to PCI compliance.
I like having a MicroCenter in Minneapolis, for a B&M store they have a pretty decent selection of modern parts, but you definitely pay for the convenience. I buy from them now and then, but unless it's an emergency I have a hard time justifying the price bump over online.
This already exists. Buy a phone off Craigslist or eBay and you're taking your chances on the IMEI being blacklisted. No need for some federally mandated killswitch.
The whole "theft" excuse is a smokescreen for something else.
WhatsApp has nothing to do with SMS. SMS isn't just a general term for "text data sent by someone a phone". It's a specific protocol. WhatsApp data is sent is data over the internet.
Brilliant. So in a document written to establish the power of the federal government, some morons believe there's a clause which then basically says "By the way, the government can do whatever it wants with no limits."
So without the government stepping in and telling manufacturers how much they're allowed to charge for their products, consumers will spend more than YOU believe they should?
That really does embody the progressive mindset. People are stupid, and they need your "vast intelligence" to get through life. All they need to do is put you in power and you'll lead those sheep to greener pastures.
Brutal dictators throughout history have thought the same way.
It's hard to keep a well stocked refrigerator of food in your cubicle or vehicle, but keeping some pills or packets of powder ready in your desk drawer or glove box is pretty simple. I do the same with "breakfast bars" or whatever you want to call them.
Don't these buses pay fuel tax like every private vehicle? And exactly how much does it cost to allow people to stand on the sidewalk and wait for a bus? Are you going to stop loitering of any kind at busy stops? Those damn loiterers and their drain on the public transportation system...

Pretty sure that's not a right wing attitude.
What power does money have without the state behind it? The wealthy are thus because they're tied to the power of the state, not in spite of it.
I don't hunt myself, but even I see the anti-hunters in this discussion for the fucking idiots they are.
Great, then we can cancel those energy subsidy programs for low income families.
Want to defeat King Coal? Turn off your computer. That's a win for everyone.

Jeez, I wonder how many store managers I've freaked out over the years...

I guess it's not entirely dissimilar from email, outside of presentation.

Wow, that's kind of obscure Billy Joel reference. One of my favorite songs.
You're an ignorant buffoon if you believe this is limited to Republicans.
Between the general welfare and commerce clauses, it would seem there are no limits to the federal government.
And your point is?

Well said.
That's an adorable opinion. *pats gl4ss on the head*
So you're going to ensure that the government the rich and powerful have to use against you is even bigger and more powerful? Interesting logic.
Don't be surprised if banking regs make that impossible at some point. You know, to protect you from being abused by your bank.
