Because they're dumb. Of all the animals on God's green earth, sheep have one of the highest chances of winning the World's Stupidest Animal award. For instance:
1. Sticking a sheep's lamb between her and feed. 2. Watch as the sheep runs over the lamb in the mad scramble to get to the feed. 3. ??? 4. Profit!
For more fun, put feed inside a barn with a narrow door (i.e., human door, not a traditional barn door), and let about 20 sheep try to get through. Their trying to get through the door is reminisce of a group of people trying to see how many bodies they can fit inside a telephone box, but without that intention.
Long and short of it: they'll do anything for food. Except not run through the electric fence. Or any fence, for that matter.
I'd guess, the same type who find Adobe Reader on Linux/Gnome useful, i.e., masochists, sadist IT guys, and IT guys who don't know any better. Oh, and those who need to need to fill out forms in PDF's.
...maybe it's about the same time Adobe did to JavaScript in Reader as Microsoft did to macros in Excel and Word, oh, about a decade ago? Leave them disabled until the user approves them for a specific document.
It's a flawed solution: the user will still be the weakest link, but it's better than having it always on all the time by default.
And I've had 5Kbps down/3Kbps up for eleven years (dial-up-in-the-boonies-surrounded-by-trees-so-$75/month-satellite-is-the-only-"high-speed"-option, anyone?). I'd kill for a steady 512kbps connection. However, because Bell sucks (oh, did I mention that I'm in Canada, so I can't even look forward to this?), the only way I'm ever going to get any better is if the government somehow forces it to be made available.
Come to think of it, I'm technically not even that far out in the boonies: I'm only about an hour away from the Parliament buildings, for goodness sakes.
(Hey look - only eleven hours left on my Ubuntu Server download!)
Actually, I heard tell of a hack for the PC version of FFVII that let you add Aeris back into your party after she'd died. I never bothered to look it up, but I'd imagine it had something to do with modifying the save file.
Console-only really ticks me off - they'd probably sell a lot more copies if they released a PC version. I guess the problem with PC versions is you'd have to release it on BluRay or about half-a-dozen DVD's, and neither of those options is very convenient. Oh, or it could be downloaded, I guess, but I don't think anybody'd want to download a (wild guess, here) 30GB game.
Interesting: I'm in Ontario, and if I buy stuff from DirectCanada, who are based in BC, but ship some stuff from Toronto, I only ever pay GST (5%). And yes, this applies even if stuff is being shipped from the Ontario location.

Your score is 0 [total of 42 points], in 3 moves. This gives you the rank of Beginner.
Now they just need to replace their backup systems with paper tape and punch cards for security reasons. After all, it's so much harder to steal a few cubic miles of solidified wood pulp than a cargo container.
Guys, I know Vista has way too many versions, but is it really that hard to remember that it's Windows Vista Home Premium (and for that matter, Vista Home Basic), not Vista Premium and Vista Basic?
That's one heck of an audio editing machine*. Any pros want to fill the rest of us in on why they'd need that much power? Is ProTools really that demanding?

* To me, a DAW is the only thing I can really see this being useful for from a spec perspective - no video cards, and yet a good sound card and extremely quiet.
Seeing as the scratches the technology currently fixes are only a few micrometres in size, it's probably more an issue of it being extremely difficult to place another scratch at exactly the same place as a previously healed one.

I know you're trolling but the thought of people arranging for something like that is actually very scary.
So what do you like about it? I always find my hands/fingers hurt after typing on them too long, mostly because the keys are too sticky to use properly (and they don't seem to loosen up over time).
Which is funny, because Apple's keyboards are probably the lowest-quality product they sell. I challenge you to find five decent typists who like typing on Mac keyboards.
Ubuntu can be installed on pretty much any Intel Mac and many PPC Macs with varying degrees of success, as can many (most?) other modern distros. In fact, Yellow Dog Linux was created for use on PPC-based systems, and its first release targeted Macs specifically (mind you, there weren't many other consumer PPC-based systems around at the time).
Honestly, I wish the switchover was closer. (Mind you, I'm probably one of about three who feels this way.) It's mostly for selfish reasons - analog reception where I am isn't so hot (I get CBC in English and French and CTV; none of them have great reception and CBC in English is fairly poor) and digital would, presumably, make things all better.
Well, except for the receiver box. Which I could care less about. Hey, it's still less than it would be in time to put up a TV tower! (Whoo boy, did I just say "TV tower"? Has anyone used one of those for its intended purpose since 1993?)
Nope. I refer you to the Adventures of Dr. McNinja.
