Frankly, i don't get it, if i've paid for the game i expect to have full functionality out of the box, paying afterwards for DLC is something i don't do. As for those FB games, do people actually enjoy those things? I tried a few of those in the past, and found them to be as amusing as a lobotomy.
Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but the average game 15 years ago were a lot more fun then the average game i see coming out these days, sure, the graphics of current games blow those old titles away, but i prefer playing Puzzle Bobble over Half Life any day.
Correction, the device just works if you are content with working the Apple way, as soon as you want some flexibility you need to hack the hell out of it, good for noobs, bad for nerds.
I don't like the new nano, touch interface and way to small, knowing myself i'll lose it within 24 hours after buying it, if i were to buy it. I'll keep the previous model for now. That's probably the only apple tech i actually like.
Phone camera's are junk, the only thing i use them for is to take a snapshot of a poster with events if i goto a concert, or snapshots of the whiteboards at work after a brainstorming session (to lazy to write it all out again)
... Are you telling me the iPad can't even f'cking print document?! And now they're going to try & kill last.fm? Oh and what about those rentals? Fuck that shit
I'm generally for freedom of speech. I think you should be able to make and market any variety of porn you like, for example, as long as it's made exclusively with 0 or more consenting adults. But I do think the Janet Jackson thing was really bad, and not something that should have happened.
Why was it a bad thing that shouldn't have happened? Here's a question for you, if nudity wasn't so 'horrible' over there, do you think it would've happened in the first place?
I can understand people not liking hard core porn in between sesame street & pokemon while the toddlers are watching (and i'm sure the toddlers don't want to see that neighter), but come on, the image of a boob ain't gonna kill them or turn them into rapist zombie bastards from hell, as for profanity, saying shit is a lot less harmful then showing torture, murder & explosions, hell, even McGyver is more harmful (who hasn't recreated anything shown in that show?) then letting kids hear profanity.
I never doubted that actually, i found it amazing people actually thought that of all those stars out there were without planets, it didn't make sense to me to assume such a stance
As long as it's only looking like Vista & not working on my nerve like Vista (and Win7) i suppose i can live with it, besides, you can disable the screen candy
It took me 5 minutes to get 3 kids using Ubuntu after they had only known Windows, the kids were 9 & 15 years old...
Making the OS look like something it isn't raises expectations that the system might work the same as well.
I have to agree, as a kid i toyed with 6502 assembly on a C64, when i later learned C & we came to the subject of pointers, i noticed that all the others were wildly confused about the subject, while it was so obvious & logical to me, even now, the knowledge i gained from those early days really comes in handy even though i no longer do development
You know, after what i heard about US 'healthcare' it seems to me it's cheaper to book a flight to Europe & get treated there than it is to stay in the US....
I would love to buy games, but the ones coming out these days are either crap (my personal opinion) or not available for the platforms i own (usually it's both), so i play old 8 & 16 bit games & the occasional PlayStation title.
It happened on my desktop, and it's happening to desktops everywhere, the difference is the rate of adoption, which is still a snail's pace.
Difference between now & ten years ago is that linux has come a large way, and is suitable for day to day use, such as surfing the net & simple office work, it still falls apart when it comes to gaming & specialized fields, but overall, if you don't need gaming, you can pretty much do everything with linux already.

Actually, the Nikon D3000 has an auto mode for the people who can't be arsed to read a manual.
Camera's on phones suck for 3 reasons:
- Tiny sensors == crappy light sensitivity
- Tiny lenses == Crappy light sensitivity
- Absolutely horrid user experiance == bad ergonomics, camera shake

This blew my mind... that bloody thing can't print yet?!

I do not want them to grow up thinking profanity, nudity, violence or whatever is normal behaviour
Newsflash, it is normal human behavior, expose your kids to reality & learn them how to deal with it, they'll live longer
Well, in Europe you might see the odd boob in a commercial... our youth hasn't gone bonkers yet because of it though
If nudity wasn't so 'shocking' they'd have to use something else to come over shocking, this was about making the news, not about nudity.

Knowing humanity, we'd be more likely motivated to launch a first strike at that planet then anything else

Yes, punch cards
What? You mean all those people who used MS Dos are over 100 years old?! But i feel fine!
That token ring network at IBM
You do realize that it's very possible some of your relatives, family or friends might actually be part of that botnet without you knowing right?

I kind of want one.... wonder how hackable these things are
