  1. Re:Stop being such pussies. on US Agency Blocked Cellphone / Driving Safety Study · · Score: 0

this is America, if we can have guns and beer why cant we talk on cell phones when we are driving? guns kill more people than cell phones and the only difference is they determine your aptitude with a gun. Why not just have people take a couple aptitude tests to see if they can talk and drive at the same time rather than restricting yet another right of ours?

frist post. honestly if this is the kind of stuff that gets you all riled-up, I think it's time you took a walk. This is possibly the least worrying thing to ever come across slashdot in a while. So a bunch of kids determined that white males shouldn't get funding, well wah. I always hated those people who told me that there are always other people who have it worse than you, but Tropic Thunder was more racist than this. I don't think anyone has to worry about white males being underrepresented. Sure we don't have a NAAWP or the Society of White Engineers or anything, but that comes with the skin color. We had a fairly large stint in global history basically selling and raping anyone else. Now we have to share. The best description of race I've ever heard came from that "racial deliciousness" guy. He said something about the entire world being like an orchestra, and that we can all be different and just as valuable. America lauds it's ability to see past race and treat everyone the same, but any music major'll tell you to never do that with an orchestra (and any guitar player'll tell you to never do that with the singer). At the same time, giving the trombones an easier part than they should have because you think they can't play as well as the other instruments is unacceptable. The truth is that to ignore differences is still racism because due to norms there will still be those that do not get an equal share. You know 70% of black smokers smoke menthol, while only 20% of white smokers do? I think I'm just pulling that out of my ass, but I really like that statistic, and say it as much as possible, even when it makes no sense. What I'm basically saying is this: your life is meaningless and fornicate as much as possible. It's true.

I thought this was exactly what parallel universes are. Just a bunch of universes with different conditions. We didn't really get lucky that we are in a habitable one because we exist, and just by the virtue of our existence means we could not be in anything but a habitable universe. Sure there might be better universes, but at least we're not on Nowwhat. Seriously, none of this is new if you've read Mostly Harmless or Candide.

seriously. I can take completely made-up science as long as it's not Jar Jar talking with a jamaican accent, but in-episode advertising, along with nonsensical plot development? I'm ashamed I watched a show that turned into this.

wow this is old. anyways I do not mean "hey, you need privileges to do this" but "hey, you are going to get another popup box that will ask you for your privileges, do you want to continue?" Which shows up somewhere, I think when you change your background (I've seen it elsewhere too). I understand the importance and the usefulness of having administrator accounts and privileges, but the implementation of that in Vista is stupid, especially considering the stuff up here. Apparently it's a rather easy workaround, and was in fact designed "to annoy you." It's too damn late for sources. Have a good day or two

I'm a liberal. My rooms are always a mess. But you know I like guns. Which is why I line them all up neatly around my dorm room walls. And I make sure to use them each for their intended purpose - barrett m500 for bears and other large game, my glock for passing squirrels, and the 30 ot 6 for lawyers. seriously people, It's just the future of America we're dealing with. You guys need to lighten up. I think if we all took a step back and realized how absurd it is we're all alive, the election would seem like a trivial thing. I mean hell, the president can't even write a bill of his own. The election in 2006 was much more important than this one. The parallels to Zaphod are disturbing. Oh, and just in case no one has broken it yet: Hitler. However, the rules are puff puff pass. Republicans, you gotta follow the rules. We'll give it back when the economy is back together and all the ridiculous legislation we put in place to try and speed that up starts to get on everyone's nerves.

  10. Good Book on The Ninja Handbook · · Score: 1

I'm just going to babble on here; no one's going to read this and it's more for the defense attorney of whatever trial I get into. I personally purchased this book, and while I haven't read it, I can say with full honesty that I give the cover 5/5. A spectacular piece of imagery encompassing everything ninja about a ninja handbook. Also, being a vampire pigeon, I am very excited to hear about the vampire pumpkins, and look forward to eating them soon. Finally, some more ninjaness. It seems like pirates are beginning to rule the more mainstream areas as ninjas sit back in video games with poor camera controls and comic books. Why the hell can't anyone make a good ninja movie nowadays? Like honest-to-God, backflip/run on walls/smoke bomb ninjas; you know, the kind that never existed, like PotC. Also Naruto is not about ninjas. Ninjas don't wear orange jumpsuits unless they go to anime conventions, in order to blend in so that they can kill all the people dressed similarly. Opinions about content aside; it's not about ninjas. like, end of discussion. You see the period? yeah, it's real. For the record, I for one welcome our ninja overlords, though I am puzzled as to why they have not removed some of our government yet.

But most of this is irrelevant if you realize that (1) as others have said, this plan has a high risk of falling through, and (2) the Zune is, when you get it home, a sexy piece of machinery that works really well when you know how to get stuff that costs no money. Is Microsoft a little behind in the times? Yeah, maybe. But I don't wan't an itouch. My rule is if I can break it with one hand, I'm not spending $350 on it, especially for only 16 gigs. The Zune has all the core features for $250 at 80 gigs. that's a lot of pr0- I mean music. Damn, I've been beat: http://hardware.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=546252&cid=23332152
