Just like a netbook. But I as a consumer have a right to disagree with that view. My netbook was a low-cost laptop that nicely fit in my bag. If I want to use a tablet as a Nagios server with monitor, that is my choice and I must be free to make that choice.
Nothing new here, isn't it? In the past few months entire countries (Italy and Greece) were overthrown by the "international market". And off course nobody even wonders who the "international market" is.
Yes, this is bribery. But in the USA, this is the norm. Especially with media companies. And that has a history. Back in the days when publishing cost a lot of money, it may have actually made sense to let the industry regulate itself. Today, it regulates Joe Average, though.
I had to look up this word. It means "fear of weapons" (I thought a Hoplon was a shield, not a general weapon). Somehow some some Americans think weapons are perfectly safe and normal, even in an environment where you don't need them for the dangerous wildlife. How sick must you be to come up with such a word?
Looks like the same Capitalism that ended Communism in the 90's will end Democracy in 2012!
On the contrary. It is the very same capitalism that caused communism as an answer. We are in a second 18th century where now all virtual "commons" are being Enclosed, alongside with entire countries (Greece, Italy).
Also, the costs of insurance in case something goes wrong is non-existent for nuclear powerplants. That is insane. The risks are huge, but for some stupid reason not taken by the powerplants and what's worse, for some stupid reason they are not required to..
But at least our (Dutch) law has provisions against criminal organizations. These organizations are clearly criminal. Is there really nobody who files charges against these mafiosi?
The windmill looks nice but for that to work you need something to baseload the grid.
No you don't. That is like saying that our industrial revolution (I'm dutch) with all our wooden windmills never happened. But even if you do want a grid and to baseload that grid, you can do so with stored (solar) heat and a stirling engine (like in Tamera). Or with water power.
Ownership is stupid when it comes to files. Or to many other things. If a developer has made a 90% of config file on my system, is it his or mine? But that is not the question. The question is: Who *lovemaking* cares?

Did they only have to pay for half a patent also? The other half was off course bloody obvious.

Well, I already know that there is a lot wrong with both SOPA and BSA. Does that change anything?
hoplophobia

In what way would my N900 be less free than a WM7 phone?

So what if someone else posts it?
Ok. Let me delete them for you. Surely the password needed to do that is somewhere on the web...

Quite simple. Each search engine has words that should not be indexed (like common words, such as "the"). So simply add "Chanel" to the list.
It should require an explicit opt-in.
If my bank would suggest something like that, the best deal would be another bank.
Only if you think that you can "own" abstract ideas. Which in itself is too stupid for words.
Just wait 'till the shit passes through the fan.

Just put it in a plastic bag and leave it at the airport.

But some are standing on the shoulders of giants. To kick them in the face. Especially other giants. We call that "patent wars".
As far as I know a keyboard is a board that is full of buttons. Not even one of them fits any lock.
What? Public lands? Is there still any land that is not owned by anyone where you live?
(I was using an OS and filesytem in the late 80's that didnt have that problem.)
Yes, the commodore 64 was a great machine!

Big Brother is watching you!
I wonder when they make this compulsory for civilians as well?
