Yeah, that's true about Texas. I was there for a brief time, and literally everyone was doing the speed limit. I asked the driver why, and he said that if they catch you on the TV, they send you a ticket. That could get expensive quick even for people that have lot's of money and normally don't pay much attention to speed limits.

Many thanks Ramze, the best response I've had yet. You sound like a really decent human being. I'll check that website today!
I live outside the US, so my movie rental options are extremely limited, even though I do have a big screen HDTV with really nice sound, it doesn't help much here. Since I'm a movie addict, I have had to download movies.
I much prefer the option you offered. Thanks again.
Thanks again.
LOL. I don't live in the US. I understand your reasoning though: 1 out of every 100 Americans are in prison. Prison is a growth industry in America. Capitalism can really suck.
Thanks Andrew. Not a lot of options where I live in Eastern Europe, but thanks for the advice. I have complained, three times, without any positive results.
I think that Hollywood should take an active interest in this issue, as they get paid according to how many people attend their movies.
I LOVE the idea of a cell phone jammer. Not easy to get where I live in the Baltics. Yeah, I fully agree, paying for all those pre-movie ads really sucks. Hollywood should get a clue there too! If you pay for a movie, NO ADVERTS. Duh, Hollywood, duh!
Well, you probably don't live in Eastern Europe where you can't march down to the corner Blockbuster now do you?
I download torrents because I have to, until such time as the movie going experience is made decent again.
The nice part is, once theaters police these cell phone yack yack yackers is that most movies are in English with Russian subtitles.
I agree, with reservation.
I love going the big screen, and paying real money for a movie isn't a barrier for me. Some movies must be enjoyed on the big screen to get the full effect. DVD's at home? I never took up the practice, and NEVER will.
Now the proliferation of rude cell phone users has made it impossible to actually enjoy a movie these days. The last movie I went to, seven people used their mobiles, several of them multiple times.
Well, now I am FORCED to download movies illegally, and will continue to do so until Hollywood gets their act together. It was bad enough when I only had to listen to loud candy wrappers and popcorn chewers. Mobile phones in theaters have broken this camel's back. Movies are getting too expensive to listen to imbeciles in the audience talking their life story to some sad suck that is willing to listen.
DO YOU HEAR THIS HOLLYWOOD??? FIX IT!!! I want to return to the cinema someday soon. Cell phone users are STEALING money from you. You MUST make the movie going experience wonderful, or suffer accordingly. Metallic paint of the walls can jam cell phones... DO IT!
Even on a straight road, an animal can dart in front of you, a drunk can swerve into your lane, a tire can blow out. All things that can lead to chaos is the speed is too great. That's the issue. People have a false sense of security when they drive. They forget that all that comfort can wrap around you in a second and crush like an eggshell. By speeding, you are putting not only you own life at risk, but the lives of others too.
CCTV should be incorporated on the roadways. As technology becomes cheaper, it will be. Why waste good police forces enforcing traffic violations when you can just send a ticket in the mail? There is enough crime to keep them busy.
Every California Highway Patrol officer I've talked to said the same thing: "At the scene of a fatal accident, everyone is in a big hurry to get nowhere".
I live in Latvia, where driving is far worse that the UK. People have the same reasoning you do, but only more of it. "I have a high powered premium automobile, and I know how to drive fast". We have the second worst fatality rate in the EU.
Sure, you can drive better with training, experience, and a fine auto, but what you cannot do it make adjustments for the unexpected in an emergency. The faster you go, the more inertia you have, and the more likely you are to die in an emergency. Basic physics and biological-psychology.
Perhaps this is "off topic", if there are no CCTV cams on the roads in Britain. I suspect there are. I don't know though, if there are no CCTVs on the highways, I apologize for being off topic.
LOL. Sure. I'll be like Rodney King on national television then. I was actually roughed up by cops once, and for no good reason. I wish CCTV had captured that choice moment, I'd be a richer man today...
What an excellent use of CCTV.
I made my first trip to London this weekend, and felt quite happy about the CCTV. If someone waxes me with a knife, I want them to pay the price. No better way than photographic evidence via CCTV. Keep up the good job England. I hope the US follows suit.
Especially on the freeways, where people drive like lunatics. I noticed on the roadways in England, people really drove safely for the most part. A win-win for all concerned. Speed kills.
At least robots can be targeted and destroyed. Wait until nanobots are created. A soldier will be walking along on patrol, and suddenly begin to disintegrate into a pile of slush.
The issue here was how the Russian people of Estonia were disregarded when the monument was moved.
The monument could have been moved by involving the Russian people, not simply uprooting it and moving it. Any culture would have taken deep offense at the way this was done. The move was meant as an offense, a way to show how Estonians feel about Russian Estonians.
I think Estonia is lucky it was just a cyber attack.
Several aspects of Vista I really like. They just make sense. But the integrity of the systems makes it almost useless at this time.
I tried to switch my new HPdv9000 from Vista to XP without success. Now I use my old HPdv8000 with XP, and the new shiny one with a more powerful processor , memory, etc, just sits in the corner waiting for the day that Vista comes of age................
HP in my opinion, certainly isn't listening to their customer base. Clearly they are listening to the commands of MS. Pity. If HP gave the option of XP with their new line of computers, it would have been a very good thing for all.................
Now we just suffer at the hands of CEOs deciding our fate. This really sucks.

Cool Bert, you've got it made, I must say. Congrats!

This isn't the story according to the Russians I know in Estonia. Sorry.
