If the police weren't desperate for a solution to this growing problem, this kid would be doing time.
I predict this action will help to fuel the fire, and create more hackers "trying to earn a job". What the hacker himself has to watch out for, are people that he helped rip off. Some of them will take punishment into their own hands, since the authorities let him walk Scott-free. I wouldn't want that type of paranoia hanging over my head.
If we don't start encrypting our activities on the Net, be prepared for increased government intervention in everything we do. Here in Latvia, if you are caught with one illegal song, your entire computer is confiscated. Encryption makes sense.
The radioactive isotope carbon 14 is in everything we eat. It seems likely the bombardment of DNA by these low levels or radioactivity would be enough over time to degrade our structure, contributing to the aging process. Do you agree?
I'm not very geeky, but I can use this program. The instructions, which are 117 pages, are pretty straightforward. With hackers (they type I don't respect) becoming more sophisticated by the day, it's nice to know it will take them many years to break my financial information. If they have that type of time, they're probably behind bars.
Even more important, is the background illumination. Never use a terminal without background illumination that is close to the illumination of the monitor itself. This reduces eyestrain./////////One color that helps a lot for people with dyslexia (you may have a form of it) is a peach background instead of white. It would be nice, but I agree... no.
MS seems to premise the philosophy that as computer architecture grows, so should our bloat. They think they 'own' a particular percentage of resources. This is their big mistake.
I think MS will eventually go the way of the Dodo. All it will take really is a little more evolution of Linux to the point that it can run most MS based programs, and then: kaput. I'm not very geeky, but I already have Ubuntu dual booted on my Vista machine, and have already made the switch to many open source programs. If someone like myself is moving away from MS, how much more young people that are completely comfortable with new technologies?
It's okay, I didn't expect you to refute the laws of physics: a steel framed building cannot free-fall to earth without controlled termite charges. The debris from the towers were carted off to be scraped before any agency had a chance to examine the evidence. No doubt, you think that 'two small pockets of fire' from the jet fuel could melt the fortified steel supports specially designed to withstand just such a strike. That's not very smart.
Thanks to you, I was able to see the updated version of Loose Change on youtube. It's more compelling than ever, and the really lame and weak efforts at debunking out there are just sad. Why are they showing an animation of the plane that hit the pentagon instead of the three recordings that were taken at the Sheraton and two other establishments. What is on those tapes that made the FBI confiscate them before anyone could see them?
Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction, and reaffirming what I already know.
Sorry, I signed in anonymously by accident. This is my real name BTW, not and 'anonymour' like fishwithawanger. I like that word truther. Never heard it before. Has a nice ring to it. Very creative of you. Ah... a truther is someone that gets their information from 'loose change' which has been 'thoroughly debunked'. Okay, I'm game. Tell me how modern physics can be 'debunked'. Explain how a steel structure pancaked to the ground at free-fall speed without help from controlled termite explosions. Time to show your shining intellect. I'm waiting... or is parroting the word 'truther' all you can do?
Anyone that takes your stance lives inside the US. Many more people consider Bush to be a war criminal outside the US, where the US propaganda machine doesn't churn its wheels so much. But let me ask you one question if you really believe Bush isn't a war criminal... How did the World Trade Towers fall a free fall speed to the ground, when the study of physics claims it would take over a minute for such structures to pancake to the ground without controlled termite explosions. Just curious. Also, why didn't we leave Iraq once we found out there weren't any WMD. Just curious about that one too. And why where many more votes counted for Bush that voters that turned out to vote? Doesn't that strike you as odd, at least? http://www.ideamouth.com/voterfraud.htm Bush is not only a war criminal, but a fraud to the American people, and a scandal to the world. http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm
I have to totally agree with you. And I commend you for being against the President, being from Texas and all. You must be in the far minority in the Lone Star State. My hat is off to you. I'm afraid that big business is so much bigger than the government now, that ultimately, they are in control. I call it the military/industrial complex.
Whatever you think of Bush, in the area of being able to avoid punishment for all of his wrongdoings, he is a pure genius. This is just one more law that will help protect all war criminals in the Bush Admin after he is gone. Well, at least in the US. I doubt it will help him in the Hague.
Please, no spamming by Bushites... I understand you love and adore the man no matter what he does. I accept your right to be this way.
I'd dump MS like a hot potato if Linux was able to run the programs that are built around it. I've tried to install wine several times without success. Not everyone is a geek, many people like myself, need a more user friendly application before we can use it.
Like it or not, evolutionary forces are at work everywhere, and this includes education. I always thought of my college experience as an effort to eliminate me from continuing, and therefore I put a lot of effort into surviving and thriving in the environment. Sooner or later, unless you are exceptionally gifted, you get 'weeded' from the system.
The question is how to store the wastes of nuclear reactors. No one has come up with a viable solution yet. The storage in Oregon has seeped into the water table, and is heading towards the Pacific. What then? A similar situation exists in Russia, and who knows where else.
Slovakia just had a near catastrophe; people still can't live in Chernoble, although the ones that lived are suffering for the rest of their life with radiation illnesses, along with their children.
What's your solution to long (very long) term storage. I'd just like to know...
Unfortunately, HP doesn't offer the same program. I would have paid to downgrade. Vista SUCKS. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we supposed to PAY for an UPGRADE??? sheez.... This must be MicroBrains way of admitting that XP really is a superior product. Hey, and long as it makes Gates more billions, why not? He'll swallow his pride one way or another in order to make more ducats.
While it might be hard for the average person to get their hands on fusible material, how hard is it for underground organizations with huge budgets?
Consider all the unaccountable nuclear material from the former USSR. At least some of it is in the wrong hands.
Considering design, it can be low tech. If three suicide bombers can tolerate huge doses of radiation for a few moments, it is not a problem to make. If I, without an engineering degree, could figure out how to design a low tech 'pipe nuke', I shutter to think of what someone with training could come up with.
The worst part of all this? If a nuke goes off in NY NY before the end of Bush's term, he can become President in perpetuity (read the White House website if you don't believe it). NOW THAT'S SCARY.
Agreed. When it comes to photos, with only a few years experience at photo manipulation, I can make a n image that is indistinguishable from a 'real' image, if I take my time to do it right. Okay, so I have many years of training in fine arts, but the point is, this line has already been crossed. PHOTOGRAPHS are no longer dependable evidence in and of themselves. Even if someone testifies the image is real, they might be lying.

LOL. Fantastic, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Judgment would be: "You are a lame son for selling to your parents". I simply asked questions, and stated my amazement. This is NOT a judgment.
Great. I'm glad that works for you and your family. One of the blessings of freedom...
You SOLD to your own parents? I can't imagine that. Has America become so materialistic that we sell things to our own parents now?

I haven't found a viable solution yet. Will you enlighten me please?

Whatever NASA/the Air Force/DARPA is admitting to, they already have new secret technology that makes what you know about obsolete.

Agreed. DNA computing just sounds too damn weird... Like, after I die, will my DNA be used for a computer, and will "I" be in there anywhere???
